There is only two possible explanations here that I can think of:

1)-My new anti-syphon increases the number of shots I get per tank (using 20oz)
2)-The good people of my local field sold me a bag of 500 that had less then 500 paintballs in it.

Which one is it, I went through 600 paintballs roughly (probably slightly less cuz I dropped a few balls when loading) on one 20oz tank. My tippy (A-5) has no regulators on it. I was amazed at this but yet dumbfound.

Consider the following - I was firing between 225-240 FPS and It was probably about 17-20C and also I was not firing at a large ROF. But I'm low on my tank (still got some gas) because My R/t is not functioning normally and I was experience shoot-down a little bit when I last played (2 hours ago)

Any explanations folks?

My 20 oz I get probably around 1100 shots ATLEAST. How is the r/t messing up/what is it doing wrong?

So your anti-siphon gave you fewer shots...is that what I'm gathering here? You said 'increases' but if it had increased your shot count then I doubt you'd be complaining.

My guess is that the tank probably didn't get filled all of the way. That and maybe a slow leak around the RT fittings, which would explain both poor efficiency AND a malfunctioning RT. Make sure the tank is full, and check those fittings and you should be good to go.

Nah, he means the A/S is giving him more shots. He's not complaining.

A totally stock Tippy should get atleast 900 shots off a full 20oz.

R/Ts lower your efficiency a bit, so I guess 700 is about right. Your number seems a bit low. It should actually be even higher.

that's just probably because of the temperature, 15-20. When I play in like 40-50 (F), I get really bad efficiancy, as low as like 400...

You do realize he said 17-20 degrees celcius, right? Thats like 65 degrees F.

I know, I'm just thinking that if he's in 68F weather now, he's probably used to alot warmer...
JOC, where do you live?

I'm not complaining, I'm just curious because I have always heard that A-5's only get about 500 shoots on a 20oz tank. I'm playing at a indoor field in my area. Thats why it is so warm. I finished off my tank and I'm think I got a total of 650 shots. Even-though I was suffering major shoot down (I'm guessing) and my r/t was not working to full capacity (to be expected)

600 on an A-5 sounds about right. That's about what I get unless it's really warm out.

ive never seen a tippy get 900+ shots on a 20 oz. co2

We fill then pretty close to full at the field, and they usually last maybe 700 max. A5 got me roughly 500 shots...

Hmmmmm. Well maybe my field gave me less then 500 paintballs (doubtful) or it could be just my ROF and the outside temperature. Never seen a tippy get over 900 shots on a 20oz. Even with a good reg on it?

You using a A-5 or 98?

98 custom with a gta x chamber 2x trig lots of home mods shooting 220 fps

thats about it a 14 smart parts proggresive barrel

all i can think off

If true I have a new respect for expansion chambers (atleast the better ones). You don't even get that number of shots on a regulated A-5:eek:.
But again though temperature and ROF have alot to do with it.

Definately shens. Theres no way you can get 1800 shots off a Tippmann on a 20oz.

He COULD be firing that many shots if it was like 34c out.

hmm maby like max at 7 bps

1800 shots at 15 degrees?! Sorry bud, but that isn't possible. You would be fortunate to get 1000 shots in that cold weather.

papaintballer15

tippys are probably the biggest gas hogs on the market. 1800 is impossible... you may increase about 150-200 shots over normal bc of your velocity being so low.

TheSpy11
03-11-2006, 06:32 PM
I almost forgot that the velocity being low doesn't help at all. Remember that the Tippys' velocity adjuster only restricts the flow of air exiting the power tube. It won't make the gun release less gas.

He is saying 15C. But still even at that temperature at the rof of 7bps... getting 1800 shots... The day I see a tippy with a expansion chamber get 1800 shots is the day you rule the earth and people are made from lego.

QFTW. 1800 is outrageous. I played in 110* F weather alot, and could expect ~500 from a full 16oz tank. Multiply it up, and you don't get 1800 shots off a 20oz. At 110 F, there isn't really any point in an expansion chamber for a non-RT Tippmann, as you can't shoot fast enough to freeze a CO2 tank.

TheSpy11
03-11-2006, 07:37 PM
He's saying 15 degrees fahrenheit. I know for a fact that it isn't 59 degrees F in upper Wisconsin right now.

He said he's shooting indoor speeds. That means he's playing indoors, where it's heated. So yea, the temperature is around 60 degrees F, but still, theres no way 1800 shots is possible.

Ah, now that makes sense. I knew it couldn't possibly be that warm outside.

i play here in alaska, just this last weekend i got about 500 balls from my stock tippmann 98 custom. it was about 30-40 F out. wasnt bad. now even with a expansion camber and your velocity set all the way down, u might be able to get that, but i dont u'll be able to shoot anything with a velocity that low...but yeah....sounds interesting. but a low velocity and expansion camber might be able to do that, i havent heard anything like though, id be lucky to get over 500 balls with my 20oz co2 tank.
