Question on Polished Internals

I was reading the Sticky on custom mods, and i came across the Polished Internals. Would the polish just work, w/o the steel wool? I really dont think its a good idea to take steel wool to aluminum like that.

its fine ti works with steel wool ... its a good idea it makes the bolt cycle alot smoother and faster ... jsut rub down the part where the botl cycles ... then use a rag to take al of the shaveings out .. then rub the polish in on the aluminum

i recommend a high grade/high grit sand paper more than steel wool. the wool just does a harsh job imo. i took some 1000grit sand paper and just sanded for about 20mins. then hit the dremel and my mother's mag polish for my rims and did that for about 15mins or so. worked great. and it's blinging when i open her up. really made a difference, smoother cycle and it sounds sweet when i cock it.
