If i was gonna get a spyder id prob get a shutter...

the Xtra is vert feed(faster feeding)
the reg on the shutter is no good
get an Xtra and buy a used wgp reg
it will cost u about 10 more altogether than just getting
a shutter but u will have a MUCH better gun

LOL. While I do think you should get a Piranha (I love my G2 STS), you should get whatever feels right to you. If possible, try it out at a local store before you buy it online (markers are generally cheaper online).

ok please STAY AWAY from the core series of products.

i havent used any of their products personally, but i have seen and felt a lot of their products (the paintball-online/paintballexpress warehouse is close to my house so i buy stuff from their showroom) and they really felt cheaply made and poorly designed when compared to competetive products.

and the reason the sharcs are selling for so cheap now is because there is a new version of the sharc coming out, it looks a lot like the jt excellerator

my reccomendation is to take a look at the pirhana series from PMI.

Get the Piranha STS G3 or the Spyder Xtra...best cheap guns you can find....or you could save up 200$ and get a black dragun! Those rock!

IMHO, Piranahs are the better Spyder. I held a friends Spyder SE and another friends backup STS. The feel of quality was so vast, the spyder felt like a toy. BTW, the G2 STS is good, the g3 STS is just coloring that hikes the price.

I narrowed it down a bit:

g3 sts(maybe pro)
jt excellarator

i would go for the g3 pro, or the g2 pro (on sale at actionvillage). go for the pro because it comes with a metal grip frame which is a lot stronger than the plastic frames on all the other pirhanas.

I believe the only difference between the g2 and g3 STS is the coloring. Someone back me up or correct me, though. I'm not completely sure. If it's only the coloring, I would recommend that you try to find the g2 STS on sale somewhere.

Hey, if you're still interested in buying a jt excellerator, pbgear.com has them on sale. The 4.0 is going for 109.99 and the 3.0 is 99.00. Considering I spent 230 for the 4.0 during the summer, i think it's an awesome deal. It's so cheap cause the 5.0 and 6.0 are coming out in the spring. I have the 4.0 and I'm quite pleased with it even though I'm getting me a cocker soon (you always want better than what you got).

i have 2 friends that have shutters and they are constantly not working. i would get a compact 2000 rather than a shutter. tipmans are nice beginer guns but if you have the money go for a cocker. belive me. you will buy a cheap spyder and next year you will want a better gun.

ifu want, and u destroy things constantly,(like me:rolleyes: ) then id get a m98. i abused that thing soooooo bad it wasnt funny. and it kept shooting. and im alos putting an electro kit into it and adding a tripod. my mg will destroy all:laugh:

but seriously, just go to a shop and get a feel for them.
