I just bought an Excellerator, and was wondering what upgrades I should consider pursuing. Mostly, I'd want a barrel that can let me play back field accurately, and with out chop, cheap as possible too.

do you have the 4.0 or the 3.0? if you have the 4.0 you dont need anything, except maybe a new barrel, but even that you dont need bcause the stock barrel is accurate. no barrel no matter how long will add distance to your shot, so no barrel upgrade will make your gun better for back playing. the only barrel proven to shoot further is the flatline and right now its only for tippmans, and i seen one on an autococker. in fact its been proven that the barrel only effects the balls trajectory trough the first 8-10 inches, thats why there is much debate concerning whether or not porting has an effect on a barrels accuracy, because on mostbarrels the porting starts on the last4 inches of the barrel. when a ball is shot through a 12 inch barrel and a 16inch barrel at the same velocity, they will go the same distance. as far as longer barrels being more accurate, it might seem thatway to some people because the longer length of say a 16 inch barrel will be easier to aim down, thus making it seem more accurate. the ex-chamber on the 4.0 is top knotch so that doesnt need replacement, but the 3.0 doesnt have an ex-chamber(its just a gas through grip) so if you have a 3.0 id get an ex chamber. there isnt realy much need to upgrade the 4.0, but if you do geta barrel it will mainly be for looks.

Just make sure you find a paint that fits your barrel the best. That will give you your best results in accuracy and distance. About the best so far in the stock barrel is Diablo Blaze.
