I just got one of these from Psycho Ballistics. I'm lucky enough to test one out just prior to release (Monday).

I don't think I could explain it any better than the website, so click on this:
http://www.psychoballistics.com/aradus%20Info.htm

It's simply amazing!

Available for Autococker, Angel, Spyder, Model 98 and Pro-Carbine. Of course, the Intimidator can use the Cocker threaded version so that makes me really happy!

Check it out!

We should have some in around the end of next week:

Except for the rifling (which I really don't feel does much of anything) the barrel looks like a great idea. Not using an insert and yet having an adjustable bore is a really innovative idea, which I like alot. Not too big on the lack of porting, but thats a personal issue, some people are gonna see that barrel and say "Finally something that isn't way too damn ported!". What can I say, looks really cool, can't wait to hear how well it works

That's a fascinating design... both cheaper and easier to use than the full freak system. Does it come in any other colors, or without that gigantic "Aradus" logo on the side?

It looks like a great idea. Here are my questions for it: How long is it, and how many different lengths are available? And, will the rifled seem inside the barrel lend to ball breaks. I had trouble with an irregular seem breaking paint in two separate barrels, so that is a pet peeve of mine. If no one knows what I'm talking about, go to Psychoballistic's website and view the video that shows "the inside of the Aradus." It looks like the seem could slice a paintball, especially where it starts near the threads.

If it doesn't break paint, it could become a very big seller.

OK, sorry for any confusion by the description. The barrel isn't rifled. I think the phrase "...that features a straight rifle system... " threw some people off. It's not rifled so you shouldn't get any adverse spin on the ball. I think that's what they were trying to imply with "straight rifle".

Turning the piece to select bore is very easy and it clicks into each setting.

I set it at .692 and dropped a JT Maxim paintball in there (smallest I have). It just about rolled out. I click it down to .688 and the ball stops in the barrel, and comes out when I blow into the end. Click it down to .684 and have to blow fairly hard to get it to come out. Click down to .680 and can't get the ball out no matter how hard I blow. Wont even try .676 since I don't have any smaller paintballs.

Just a brief description showing that it definitely works.

Forgot to answer the length question:

They sent me an M98 barrel. It's 12.5" including the threads. In the description on their website it says "The barrel has been tested to the marker it was made for and a custom tailored length was designed for that marker." That sounds like they may use different lengths for different markers, but I don't know what they are yet. Maybe 12.5 for all, but I'm not sure until I get them all in to see.

Thanks for the info. And I realized that the barrel isn't rifled, but there is a seem that Psychoballistics refers to as "rifled." The seem gets smaller as you tighten the bore. That's what I was asking about. As for the length, thanks for letting us know.

Sorry kids.....I keep spelling it wrong. The word is "seam." My bad.

Correct. Although it doesn't technically fit the term "rifled" as used in firearms, meaning to spin the bullet. The seam also doesn't go all the way down the barrel. It doesn't look sharp enough to cut a paintball. I've put a few through the barrel so far with no breaks. I've been using the JT Maxim, which does tend to be a little more on the "easy to break" side. So far, so good.

Some new info about the Aradus:

PMI tested this barrel for Psycho Ballistics. Apparently, they were unable to break a single ball by shooting it through the barrel. They purposely broke a ball inside the barrel using a screwdriver. After 3 more shots, the paint was gone.

Since everything in the barrel is stainless steel, you can run water through it for a good cleaning.

I think it's safe to say the seam will not cause ball breaks. I'm psyched about this barrel. I can't wait to get the one with cocker threads so I can use it with my Intimidator.

This thing seems awesome.

Let me know how it performs on your Intimidator - I'm considering ordering one from you with the Aradus (within months yet).

Also, Mike, are you going to be receiving Bob's regulator in soon?
