PB Review officially sold to PBNation and SpecOps Paintball LLC's. (APRIL FOOLS!)

As many of you may already know, Andrew, our site owner has recently moved out of the US to reside in Costa Rica and open a new venture. He has been actively looking for a custodian for PBReview as his new company, operating charter boats for big game fisherman, will take up most of his time.

Effective immediately, PBReview has officially been sold and it's operations will be taken over in a joint partnership between PBNation LLC and Special Operations "SpecOps" Paintball LLC. While most of you will not notice an immediate change, the moderator staff will be relieved of their duties over the course of the next month and a new team comprising the moderator staff from the other two companies will take over.

The new PBReview forums will contain a strong Woodsball tm focus and will be centered around the recreation baller. The reviews portion of the site will remain the same. We ask your patience and continued support during the transition.

Actually, this deal was in the works about a month ago. The ordinary mod staff are receiving a small severance pay package, and few, if any of the supers will be kept. The changeover is set to occur in four days to give Andrew time to check out the servers. PBN has offered a very generous amount of money for PBR, mainly for its review section that it lacks. And SpecOps has been growing tremendously since woodsball's "re-launch" with guns like th SP-8 and MR-1 running around. They just want to be along for the ride.PBN is set to be more speedball oriented, and PBR's forums will be designed for the rec ball audiences.
I've been very happy to work under Andrew and support his decision.

pbr isnt a corporation. they only money they might make is from advertisments, which i doubt specops or pbn would pay for, as pbn has about twice as many people they can advertise to. spec ops is the only real business that makes money for selling products, sure pbn has a store, but how much money do you think they actually make from some bracelets, hoodies, and hats? and pbn could create their own review section, its not patented

Obviously because of how the whole market for anything is being owned by fewer and fewer companies. Companies like k2 who already own wgp jt brass eagle and viewloader own a huge chunk of the market. Pbn pbr and spec ops will be owned under one company now. Obviously :rolleyes:

And no, mods don't get paid, but there will be a sizable chunk of profit in Andrew's wallet and he's decided to reward the mods/supers/and Legends that have helped run PBR till now, so while we don't get paid, there is a severance package of an undisclosed amount. It wouldn't make Donald Trump jump and down for joy, but it's a nice gesture.

I doubt that will last very long, there probably won't be many people that are willing to pay on a forum. There are some other forums out there.. none as good(IMO) as PBR, but there are other options.

Since PBR is the one being purchased, we are allowed to tell you what you know thus far. PBN and SpecOps are required not to disclose anything until the transition is made.
The biggest reason for this is the review section is very valuable to PBN and SpecOps. No one else has a review section because it infringes on PBR's rights. All the data, markers, and equipment, from ancient and obsolete to the latest and hottest in a massive database. PBR is quite a large forum, and when you combine it with PBN, it's a terrific opportunity to create one gobal forum. Like if Microsoft and Apple merged. Microsoft is huge and everything, but they keep fighting to get the Apple market because there are strengths to that platform.
