That's absurd... what's the point? The extra length doesn't do anything for accuracy, it just slows the paintball down. I've never even heard of a barrel that long.

I guess it'd look pretty cool for a scenario game though... put a bipod on the end.

Length helps for range (Ive never tried a 21 in though).
I know that there is not much difference between a 12-16 in barrel but a 18in in gets better range than a 16in. Ive never tried a barrel longer than a 18in though.

guys theres loads and loads of scientific proof why longer barrels do not add to your range and add serious drag, adding to your
operating pressure making less of a flat trajectory and in conclusion suck

look it up

cheers

Theres a pic of one in a Tippmann Forum. But it really was fake.

Uhh... no, sorry. Barrel length has absolutely no effect on the range of your marker. The only thing a longer barrel will do is use more air.

Anything after 14 inches is just cosmetics and does nothing to help the marker. I think:confused:

How many forums will be based on this topic??? If you want to argue about why longer barrels aren't better, GO TO THE RIGHT ONE! Don't try to dissuade this player from buying one b/c YOU don't like them. That'd be like a cashier telling you that the gun you just bought is a POS. Besides, although your info may be right, you can shoot ppl through brush w/ a longer barrel. If you must give the guy the facts, give him ALL the facts, not just the ones that support your story.

all this b/s about better accuracy for longer barrel on a pb gun started from real guns, the longer the barrel on a real gun the better accuracy, which is true for guns that use bullets for one reason, the barrel has threads in it which spin the cone shaped bullet and make the trejectory flatter makeing it strighter. But with paintball, we all know there are no threads inside of the barrel, and since that ball is round, even if there was away to make it spin sideways it would curve. So, now that u know why a long barrel works for regular guns and not pb guns, go and buy urself a 12" or smaller barrel. also, since a paintball breaks not impale, there is no real way to make it go farther without being abel to put backspin on it, which also ruins accuracy.

yah your right jomama22 but dont you get better accuracy w/ say a 14in barrel as opposed to a 8in??

nope, the new berzerk berrel by equation has just as much distance and accuyacy as a 14" but is only 7!!!! what a great speedball berrel, i just ordered mine, i used one at my local field and it was amazing, u go in look to have it shoot like **** and fall off, but when i shot it i was lik, woooooooooooaahh, and i knew i had to have it

i think there is a barrel made for the AT85 which is 24" AT85 only tho.

absurd, but i will pay someone 5 buks to play in a speedball tourny with one. lol

Ok u are retarded if u think a longer barrel uses more air.......someone never passed physics....A paintball gun does not have a brain, it doesnt let out more air for a longer barrel. It lets out the exact same amount of air no matter the barrel. However you're using a smaller percentage of the air to push the ball out of the barrel because the air slips around the ball because no ball perfectly fits a barrel.

partsmart -before you try and flame and sound smart

if you pay attention, with a longer barrel it takes more air to propell the paintball to the desired speed ,due to the drag created by the extra length

and yea well duh the marker doesent self adjust, but you have to turn up your input pressure/spring pressure to get it up to speed

it works like this my cocker with a 11.5 inch lapco and a matching paint will shoot 280fps at 250psi

add my 14" aa,with matching paint and boom now it only shoots at 270fps at 250psi

so inturn i have to increase my pressure to 260psi to get 280fps
witch uses more air,a harder smack on the ball, less of a flat trajectory,= not as accurate

Actually, you'll have to turn the velocity adjustment up to get the same velocity from a longer barrel as a shorter barrel... this adjustment increases the dwell time of the valve, thereby increasing the volume of air through it and being applied to the projectile.

That means it will take more air to propel a ball at 300 fps out of a 14" barrel than to propel it at the same speed out of a 10" barrel. And I did quite well in physics thank-you very much.
