Now wouldn't this be fun!

Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids.

:dodgy:

And the answer to your question is no, due to the fact that the lack of atmosphere would kill you and make your tanks overpressurize and explode.

lol, I was going to put something along the lines of that not being a factor and how we currently can't do it. But I decided to see if someone would post the obvious :P

You could throw them at each other, wouldnt go far though.

04-03-2006, 04:33 AM
Your range would be incredible due to the diminished gravity.

Most exspensive game of paintball ever.

Zero gravity paintball would be cool, you could matrix style it.

on the moon i would use this baby http://rap4.com/paintball/os/rap4-revolver-grenade-launcher-p-931.html (http://rap4.com/paintball/os/rap4-revolver-grenade-launcher-p-931.html)with the mock shotgunshells ( http://rap4.com/paintball/os/m203-grenade-paintball-pellets-p-144.html (http://rap4.com/paintball/os/m203-grenade-paintball-pellets-p-144.html))

Shoot someone at point blank and it would be like Half life 2 with gravity mods and shotgun at point blank (bye bye) you= departing from the moon with 165 welts

haha, the guns would go really far with no increase in velocity, and since there is no air, the accuracy would be awesome

but it would suck because you cant run fast on the moon, or else you will float off, you will have to "moon walk", and if you have ever seen videos of ppl doing it, it's really slow

Minkus962
04-03-2006, 11:08 AM
That's only because of the space suits. People would still be able to run fast, they'd just have to get used to the gravity if we had somesort of non-bulky suit, and take strides that push you more forward than upward, as we do on Earth.

I think I'd have to jump up in the air and superman the whole field, shooting the whole other team in progress.

You would probably have to use the q-loader on your gun too because if you tried to reload a regular hopper the paint would just float away and besides the warp feed it's one of the only loaders that can feed without gravity.

You say that like its a bad thing. And yet, in 5 years, everyone will probably be using q-loaders. Right now, it's only a niche thing for people who are patient and resourceful, but it's got serious potential.

Once they come up with a fast as hell way to load qloader Q-Pods AND make them hold more paintballs, forget about everything else. Your HALOB hopper? It's gonna be recycled to make brass eagle Talons.

And how come when I proposed playing paintball on the moon that one time everyone said it was stupid, but now suddenly THIS is awesome? Wtf...

Because your thread started as playing underwater. And 03>06.

The Q-loader isn't going to catch on. In fact, I haven't heard anything about them in a while.

The Q-loader isn't going to catch on. In fact, I haven't heard anything about them in a while.

Thats because they are busy working on:

A) A motorized loading system for filling the actual pods themselves, which is basically a hopper type thing that you snap the q-pod into and then flip a switch. This will basically solve the number 1 problem people had with qloader.

B)A 150 round pod, that is still roughly the same size as the original q-pods. This works because the original q-pod is actually a Pod WITHIN a pod, and there is a lot of empy space to work with. It's rumored that they actually did this so in the future they would be able to increase size capacity without having to change the mounting socket. This solves the second biggest problem people had with the loaders.

Also, they just recently released the system for tippmans and a new HelixDrive style mechanic that doesn't require a whiteball detent inside the pod.

I didn't say the q-loader sucks. I think it's a pretty good loader. What I meant was that youwould probably HAVE to use the q-loader because i don't think any other loader would work in zero gravity.

Should I waste a report on him for that? I mean, Hero, you could have just called him ignorant, but all of those words? Jesus...

Now thinking about it, why does "Paintball On the Moon" remind me of the "First Snow Of the Season" comic on PBF?

There isn't zero gravity on the moon, just a fraction of the gravity on the earth. Paintballs you shoot on the moon would go several times further before hitting the ground but they wouldn't fly forever. Also a gravity hopper should be able to function on the moon, just much slower- no high bps on the moon without q- loader, but a gravity hopper on the moon should feed fast enough for most pump guns.

Imagine off the break, 'sprinting' for a bunker a the 50...

In othe words, the games would probably be like 10 minutes long.

Also, I just thought of something. You could probably buker someone from like on end to another. Just jump and float all the way to the other side...

I doubt that would work, but it would be worth a shot.

It is being filmed as I speak. Will be released soon. Although I'd kinda like it to remain a book. Seeing the movie... well, I just know their depiction of everything would be different than what I imagined. Which is what always seems to happen when I watch a movie based off of a book. :|

And yeah, read the books when I was younger. Prolly still my favorite book/series I'v read.

My favorite series stands as the Dark Tower, many people didnt like the end, but really if the end had been everyone lived happily ever after and everything worked out fine would it really have been worth reading all 7 books?

i wont ruin it dont worry, the ending is unlike any other (wich is why some people who just dont get it dont like it), i have all of the books to so if you ever want to borrow one just meet me at mersey.

Put it this way, the ending has different levels (different levels of the tower maybe) almost to the point of multiple endings, but not multiple at all, you would have to understand the series to understand the ending or else it will leave you in the dust.

Well, one thing that I have to say is that, gravity isn't just gone, but it is reduced.

I would love to have like a jet-pack type thing that I could fly around with and super own people. Another advantage about the moon is that you could carry at least 4 times the weight, and you could cary a ton of paint.

I'll put a tree on the moon with bunkers and everything!

f2f4
04-10-2006, 02:38 PM
To the guy who mentioned being able to carry more weight:

Yes, you would, but there would be a VERY key downside: inertia. Your grip on the ground/etc would already be quite reduced, combined with all the extra mass you'd be carrying... it would take forever to get up to speed when trying to get anywhere. The same applies with slowing down.

But it would still be hella fun either way.

you would have to leave you tank empty or take air out of it....and then when you go to them moon the low pressure would fill you tank. it could be done...i think paintballs might pop though with the pressure

Lord Delta
04-10-2006, 10:55 PM
I don't think you would need to worry about tanks exploding. 1 atmosphere is only 14.7psi. You remove that, that's like your 3000psi tank now has 3014.7psi in it. That's not going to make your tank blow, unless it's the worlds biggest POS. You might need to worry about the cold temps making your tank brittle, in which case maybe they might be more likely to pop, but I don't know what the moon temp is so who knows about that. But the drop in pressure wouldn't kill your tank.

I can dump a few pods and that will create a slowly falling wall of paint that will take out any superman's from the other team !!! :)

Yea? Except everyone will see you and shoot like 50 balls out you so you go flying backward into the atmosphere and never come back. And when your mom asks where you are we're gonna say you're probably in space. Dead.
