I heard that they dont sell them by themselves, I think you have to buy the gun that has them preinstalled.

You can't retrofit a non-ACT gun. You can however do a home mod which is very similar. I can't remember where to find that link though.

oic so you cant take out a regular bolt and put an act bolt in aftermarket. i knew you could do it with spyders, but i wasn't sure about the tippmanns.

Yeah, it's not just the (rear?) bolt that needs replacing. I think it also changes another thing or two inside. I need to look into it to find out.

Why don't they offer a service where they retrofit the system to older Tippmanns, akin to the RT on a M98. That would be so cool. Another good idea would be to offer it for the A-5 as well.

Just my :twocents:.

Why would an A-5 need it? It has the cyclone which will stop chops 90% of the time if cared for (the other 10% being people firing faster than it can feed, but that's easily fixed).

What is the ACT bolt anyway?

tippmanns new bolt system. If a ball isnt fully loaded, the linkage rod comes unhooked from the rear bolt, hits the front, bounces back locking the linkage arm back into place. Allowing time for the ball to drop, before the rear bolt goes back forward again with the front bolt to propel the ball.
