i was wondering if you guys could ban or suspend someones acount if they were being retarded or something? (not saying anyone is being stupid)

Here's how you fix the phoneline problem to the poster above.
Let's say somebody by the ip off 32.101.129.75 does something stupid and Andrew decides he's going to ban them. He'd put in 32.101.129.* and that way even when the person dissconnects and reconnects he'll still be banned. Get it?

unless they use another IP, you can get around IP ban, but im not bout to get into that

Generally it's not the IP of the end user but the IP of the DNS or gateway they are going through. You have to be careful with banning. It's entirely possible for the admin to accidently ban himself. I have seen where an admin tried to ban a user that was logging in through his local AOL. WHen he set the ban string he accidently included himself since he was also going through the same gateway. In this case the fix was simple. He dialed into AOL long distance, used a different gateway and then removed the ban string. Since it seem a lot of the users on here are local to each other it would be very easy to lock out a large group when the intent was to lock out a single user.
