For a 98, my fastest time is like 5 minutes, and that is with keeping track of all the parts. 1.5 minutes is near impossible. Not sure about the A-5 though, never owned one.

The A-5 has around 3-5 pins that you just push out, then 4-6 screws. I don't feel like getting it right now. I don't think it's possible to field strip it in under 1 and 1/2 minutes.

field strip doesnt mean take the whole thing apart. it means remove the grip frams, dump the parts out, clean em, shove em back in, shove the pins back in.

I wish the 98 front part was easier to clean, my friend got a JT gun and all he has to do if a ball breaks is pull a pin and remove the bolt! than take his squeege and take it through.

you can do the quick strip mod where you cut the left receiver(98 custom) in half(a few millameters from the velosity hole towards the back of the gun) this will allow you to clean the front bolt area with only removing 2 bolts.

Yeah that's right. My mistake.

I like the fact that I've never had to field strip a Tippy in over 2 years of use. Who needs a fast field strip. :|

My A-5 gets gun hits 5+ times every time I go, and gun shots don't count so they keep coming. I've never had to field strip it quickly, but when I do I take my time. I could say its near impossible to field strip it in 1.5 min, but if you had nothing better to do for a whole month I bet you could get close.

The rear pins on my A-5 never come out easily. I always have to have like a hammer or something really blunt on hand in order to shove them out. Otherwise those things aren't coming out.....
Other than that it's really easy. Takes a few minutes to take everything apart without splitting the gun in half. That takes a lot longer...

somewhere i heard that tippmann claims that the A5 can be field stripped in 60 seconds. using a bottle opener i can get mine stripped in around 60-80 seconds, but i have a tapco CAR stock and that makes things a bit more difficult... so, i cant see why you wouldnt be able to field strip a stock A5 in under 60 seconds
