Barrel Length

Whats the real difference in accuarcy between an 18 inch and for instance 12 inch? Does the extra length have a great advatage?

Theoretically it should have better accuracy, but all tests and experiments performed have shown there is no difference.

There is really no advantage in having a longer barrel. You wont expect better accuracy or more range. The only disadvantage is that it uses more gas to push the ball do to the longer legnth of the barrel.

im not sure this is true but this guy who has been playing paintball since markers were used to mark trees told me that shorter barrels are more accurate because paintballs curve when they touch the side of ur barrel and get an awkward spin

Any barrel over 12" is essentially a waste. 12" is the maximum effective length for a paintball barrel. After about 8" the ball will stop accelerating and the rest of the barrel is really there just to guide the paintball. Longer barrels will use more gas, be heavier and harder to maneuver with, but will be quieter. I wouldn't spend money on anything over 14" personally, its a waste of gas, and does not give any performance enhancement.

The longer barrel you get the flater trajectory the ball takes out of the barrel. For best performance go longer, but all you really need is a good quality 12-14 inch barrel for most guns. This length allows the ability to get in close to bunkers for speedball, but also produces a flat enough trajectory to play woodsball fine.
