Alright,I am an absolute noob and I need to know some info. What do springs do.Also I here all these people talking about better valves but I don't understand them.Is it the more air the valve lets in the more pressure is on the ball?Finaly, what are operating pressures for guns?Any help is greatly appreciated. :dunce:

P.S What is this bore size thing

bore size is how big your barrel is. certain paint fits certain barrels, to have a good shot your paint needs to match your barrel;)

well different springs have different tensions and will be tighter or loose depending...a tight spring will have more kick and a loose will not...in terms of velocity a tight spring will give more velocity and a loose spring will be lower and is used in LP kits......a valve will vary the air flow resulting in better air consumption, gun action and speed or ROF for that matter....if were talking about the same valve...but most valves do the same anyhow...usually the manufacturer will set a average pressure for the gun to operate at OPTIMAL level... there are certain pressure not to exceed also... a blowback is usually 850 psi operating pressure..cockers are much lower due to the closed bolt operation...bore size is the INNER diameter of a barrel..since the beginning of time paint manufacturers strive to create perfect paint...rrriiiggghhhtt..anyhow paintballs vary in size with different manufacturers... standard bore size being .688 and paint to match...although we strive for perfect we will do with what comes...diablo makes their balls a bit smaller to accomidate smaller barrels and so they dont bust....the freak barrel system will accomidate all sizes due to its inserts...a good paint match and barrel will be one where the ball will be able to rest in the barrel and be able to be blown through possible with some force...a perfect match would take a bit more force but will not stick when pressurized to a few psi...the mouth can only do about 1 or 2 est.
