hahah, I realize this gets asked like a bazillion times a day but im really too lazy to search for it (and i don't think it has actually been covered for this barrel specifically, AND my inet is REALLY quite slow) but I am looking at buying one of the Stiffi barrels for my A5. (Do not reccomend me different brands of barrels as I have already made my mind up with this barrel). Stiff sells them in lengths of 10" 12" 14" & cunningly 16". I have ruled out the 16" because i am no "SNIPX0rz W00tsauce faceshot SNIPE" kind of guy... My actually question is, would there be any difference between the other three. If not, it would most likely be in my best interest to by the 10" (smaller size, less smacking it around). Correct? In all truths, I am looking for an answer from one of the old regulars who I actually know, knows what they are talking about. (boy, what a wierd sounding sentance.)

A5, Egrip, SpecOps EZ foregrip, HPA, etc.

You might try and borrow barrels from friends of varying lengths just to see what you like the best. Barrel length is more of a feeling question than anything else, some people like the shortest barrel they can get away with, others like 'em a bit longer, all preference.
Personally for Tippmann markers I like a 12in. barrel, the rest of the gun handles so long that anything much more than that looks and feels rediculously long. 10in. is a little short for my liking as well. 12 is a good medium, maybe 14 if you like a bit longer barrel or need to push airball bunkers/brush etc.
I'd rule out 16 as too long and 10 as too short though...but that's just me.
snipe u now!!!

Yes, I also have an A-5. I have a 14" stiffi on it too. Stiffis are very good barrels. it's very light, and tempature dosent effect it at all. So playing in the cold wont screw you up. I can use most brands of paint with it too.
Make shure you keep it clean, because even the smallest speck of dirt will mess it up:mad: To answer you question, get something shorter than a 14".
I'd go w/ the 12. Because it's long on my A-5.(no, i dont have a stock) Sometimes I end up poking it in the dirt when i'm behind cover.( even w/ a remote) I get about 2-3 inches of muck in the end of the barrel... It sucks. Cause then, you have to take it off, sqeegee it out...look down, then get shot in the face... Mah! it sucks. Blah,Blah,Blah, that rarely happens. usally on days when the ground is soft. I love my stiffi, I wouldn't ever buy another barrel. The lightness, quietness, accuracy, and reliability...'tis a must have. In my opinion one of the best barrels you can buy. Buy a 10" or 12"

I'd have to agree with those two. The 12" length makes for a good, all-around barrel. Not too short to poke through brush and bunkers, yet not too long so you unintentionally smack it around like a rented mule.

My standard barrel is 11.5 inches. I find it to be a perfect size. 14" seems to be a little too long on a Tippy IMO.
