The A-5 flatline is a great barrel, but the 98 flatline is better because it is 5-6" longer and the barrel ported, thus is shots farther and more accurate. My a-5 flatline shots 220-225 feet straight with marbelizer. (how far do your a-5s shoot?) Tippmann guarantees 100ft more than the stock barrel so thatd be 250ft, 25 feet short. and no the barrel is not warn,Fps is 270-280. My friend has a 98 flatline and it shoots in excess of 250ft. How far dose the 98 flatline go for those of you 98er's and is it more accurate?

when you are taking about distance are you arcking you shots or level:crazy:

personaly every A-5 flatline I have shot has significantly outperformed any 98 flatlines but an A-5 flatline whith porting would probably shoot farther the best part of those barrels is how the balls tend to spin off brush

The Apex has basically pwnd the hell out of the flatline, they're dated technology now. But for the record, the two flatlines should perform the same.

I have seen the Apex with a m4 barrel setup it looks sick. it costs like 120$ though:eek:

Scale of one to ten, 1 being the lowest:

0.1 - Apex
8 - 98 Flatline with a little love
9.5 - A5 Flatline

the apex is not as good as the flatline. The apex tech is just a copy that changes one little thing. Go with the tried and true Flatline

I own both a A-5 flatline and a 98 flatline and I notice that the A-5 is a little better with range and accuracy. Not alot better but just a little. The apex is a piece of crap for noobs. Every person I have ever talked to said they never use the curving to shoot around bunkers. BT just stole the flatline concept and added the bull**** "it shoots around bunkers" thing so they wont get sued. If you are shooting at a guy behind a tree, you are not going to just move the slide once and hit the guy like in the ads. You would have to sit there for a few minuets before you get it right. By then the guy will realize what is happening and leave the bunker.

A friend of mine had the flatline for the 98, he hated it because he had to adjust it during play, he sold it for $20 to get rid of it and moved onto an the BT apex that looks like an AK, so far he is still learning how to use it. I'm using the A-5 flatline and had no problems yet, except for 2 chops when I used PMI premium paint. From my experience, A-5 flatline is far better.

both barrels are great and better than other barrels i would have to say that the 98-f is a little bit better if it is set up properly but both barrels are great

the paint in flatline goes farther then normal barrels, but it slows down so much you could catch the ball at max distance.
