Hi everyone, i'm looking for a nice gun to purchase since i'm just starting out
i want to get something nice though, not some crappy gun that i'll need to replace after a few months, and if the gun is upgradable, that would be nice too
i could save as much as i felt like, but i think i'd like to spend no more then 350 on the marker, so give me some suggestions on some good guns in this price range
i was looking at an Ion, and various different spiders, but i'm open to suggestions

The Ion is well within your price range, and the Promaster is very close. With about $350 to spend, go right to a higher-end gun. Spyders and Tippmanns are good to start with, but not when you have so much money to spend. The two I mentioned are my recommendations.

The Ion is a very nice marker, and as long as you are very careful with the electronics and input pressure you will be fine.

Well 350 is a decent amount to spedn... I would go above a Spyder and look at the entry electo-p's like the Ion, Wrath, maybe Primal...even though its a Spyder. And the ICD B2K4. Check them out in the reviews.

Go with a Diablo Wrath or Spyder Pilot. If you get an Ion you will run into problems, like many people do.
They're just telling you to get an Ion because they have an Ion, and of course everyone thinks that their own gun is the best.

I would agree with piranhafreak. Get the piranha. I have a piranha E-Force that I have had for quite some time and have had zero problems. It shoots pretty good and is really easy to take care of. Check out all the markers people have suggested in the review section.

Actuall macdev I have a GTI and I happen to like it alot. The ion is the best bang for the buck currently. And when I have used them I really like them. People recommend guns because they like them. If people don't like ions, for you as an example, recommend a different gun. And that is okay, I respect you opinions. BUt don't assume that people recommend guns because they have them. And I know that my gun is the best. Heck, if I could buy a gun again it would be the EVO(or an ion:)).
edit: Don't even consider the Pilot, it's overpriced.

05 prostock if you're gonna get a cocker, but the ion is the best gun in the <300 price range.

Ion would be the perfect gun for your price range.
185 for ion
180 for hpa.
That's only 15 bucks out of your range
But then again since your new to paintball i'm assuming you don't have any other gear such as gogs or a harness. In that case you should try getting a spyder and a good hopper+hpa and just keep them for your next gun.

people are gonna just post a bunch of stuff about what they use but in my opinion i would say go for the ion it will give you an incredible rate of fire its real cheap now even with the HPA you would need and many people use them so you wouldnt have a problem finding help if something went wrong. more would be the fact that as you progress in the sport you can always upgrade what you feel you need to as there are many customization options available for the ion. IMO they are far more reliable than any Spyder i've seen too.

I hate when people say "Oh your all saying get this gun because you have it !"
I do not have an ion. and will never own one.
in order of price
1.)Kingman spyder imagine-63$-130$
2.)Smart Parts ion-185$
3.) Indian creek designs promaster-370$
for ion and promaster you will need HPA (68/4500 crossfire = 150) but the spyder you can run on a 15$ co2 tank
and you'll also need a mask,harness,pods etc

You can run an Ion on anti-siphoned CO2 also, lots of people do it. And if you're a beginner, pods are necessary unless you know you shoot alot.
