I am thinking about getting either nox or chaos for my bushie.....
How do you install the new board?!?! if someone can give me instructions that'd be great so i dont end up screwing my gun up.
thanks - bTwOkOwNeR -
Just take out the old board and plug the new one in. That is all you have to do. Both the nox and the new chaos board will fit into the tray if you even want to do that. Tray = that 1/2 inch thing between the grip frame and the body.

Wait for the 2006 Chaos board. It has a new v-link which makes more options adjustable and it has more options then the NoX.

Both boards just plug into the existing harness. Just take your frame off the gun and unplug the board, its really easy. I have the nox board and its really nice, very quick and has lots of different modes. The new chaos board is supossed to be really nice too, the v-link is a nice feature too.

i was told that you could just take off the grips
then
take out the battery
then
kind of grip the stock board and pull down on it and it comes out.
then
you will see a plug in slot
then
just kind of push the new board in the slots
this true?

Yeah i reckon you could probably do that but i dont think that would be very safe. I would be afraid that you would break the wires and then have to buy a new harness or somthing. I recomend just taking the tray off, its really easy to do, and it just seems safer that pulling on the board.

^you don't need to remove the tray or the gripframe to take out the board.
just remove the grip panels and that will give you access to the board and battery. remove the battery, then hold the board with one hand, the 12 pin board connector (the thing that connects the board to the wiring harness) in the other, and just pull the board out like you're unplugging a lamp. then take your aftermarket board and just plug it in the same way.
I don't understand why you are recommending to remove the tray. for one thing, that exposes ALL the wires, making damage to the wiring harness MORE likely, not less. second, removing the tray gives you worse access to the board, unless the board is in the tray for some reason. I'm not sure if I could even remove the board just by taking the tray off unless I moved a ton of wires around and risked breaking them, because you would have to pull the board up out of the gripframe in order to remove it. Third, regardless of which method you use to get to the board, you unplug it the same way! there is one way to unplug a board, which basically consists of grabbing it and pulling it out! (gently of course) so....how would removing the tray help at all?
if you decide to get chaos, wait for the 2006 bushy board to come out.
replacing the board is one of the easiest upgrades to install on your gun, you dont have to worry about messing anything up. just remove the grip panels, unplug the old one, plug in the new one, and youre set.

^pretty good price considering Vlink used to cost $40 separately and NOX is like $100 and doesnt have a cable.
yeah you guys know how it is with me, minimum of 2 paragraphs per post and all that....
