Is there anybody that has made good bunkers? I'm making a field at my house and only have a couple of old cars and I need more cover. Is there any good bunker plans on the internet? Any help is superb.

Plywood works, so do sandbags, just imagine anything inexpensive that you can hide behind, that would be a good bunker

Old tiress piled on top of each other, 55 gallon barrels, plastic and metal, palletes ... make a hedgerow out of tree branches, use pieces of wooden fence ... I think bunker construction is one of those areas where you can use anything that's available.

make bunkers out of wood and imbed them in concreate. they last longer this way and no one can steal them.

something else, I don't know what the area looks like where you're considering building this field, but don't underestimate the natural foilage, trees, low shurbs and such. I'd try to incorporate that stuff into the field.

Muck's right, natural cover can be great. Depends on how long you're going to keep this field, but if you can get your hands on some fast growing trees/bushes plant them for some easy cover that will last and look good

Use treated 4by4 posts buried in the ground and nail wooden pallets to it. You can just pull these up and change your field around by diggin your holes the same distance apart somewhere else. Or plywood nailed to the 4by4 posts. Like they said above, be creative and use just old junk, your field will be fun if you have interesting bunkers. Maybe a pillbox made of sandbags for and attack and defend game.

i have no experience at all making bunkers. but have you thought about just trash cans weighted down with sand.

you can buy an airball feild for under $10,000

u could also put a big ditch in you'r field. THen plant shrubs in front of that. I think that would be cool.

But I like crawling along ditches.

go back and clear all the brush, then pile it here and there for instant bunkers

If u go to a local tire store, tell them ull take away some old tires, and theyll pay u to take them. Theyll even ship them too u. MY friends was jsut messing with a tir company, saying he wante 500 free tires and they said they would give them to him for free. They called the next day to confirm it, but he refused. So make bunker out of stack of tires, they work great.

Damn Fool is right about the tires, I'd even suggest digging shallow trenches to stand the tires in, so they're upright, if you place the tires so that the outer edges are overlapping, you could make a tire fence, providing cover, and shooting ports.

you ever thought about a small house. all you need is plywood and stuff to put it together. maybe some windows to shoot out of. you could have one team try to defend the house and one team try to assault it. Or hostage rescue. Night games. etc.

Terpsare, the field I play at has plywood building bunkers, some are really cool, like one called The Maze, which as several entrances and hallways inside ... there's a field in Orland called Extreme Assault paintball that has an old helicopter as a bunker.

I need really inexspensive things like those tires, I can't afford the $10,000 air field, this field isen't for making money but just for me and my friends to play at.

Thanks for all the suggestions

You should be able to get pallets for free from stores if they aren't free they'll probably give them to you for cheap. Also ask construction workers for any leftover plywood and 2x4's to build small bunkers or hutts. Also sandbags are real cheap they just take some work to fill.

your wellcome:D i made none but ill make one now!
this is what learned! you dont always got to have alot of bunkers that are huge and stuff just try to make the simplest but strong type bunkers so your suplies will last. when i first made a bunker i used 24 pallets and it got hit by lightnig or someone set it on fire i dont know

tires make pretty good bunkers

it was a joke but any way. instead of filling sacks ,you could buy some quikcrete cheap stack about six or eight ,two high and wet the bags or do it before a rainy day. then you could dig a small trench on both sides to make the bunker a little higher .where i live there are large rocks in some wooded areas .we stack those up. also at the dump there is a section for lumber and tall wood fences and a bunch of other pressure treated wood .tires too . they might let you have the wood for free .not too sure about the tires though.

Get creative... i mean the salvage yard is like one of the best places to start, u can get like car doors, old tires, hood cover, and trunk cover all for like $2-$5. One of the coolest ideas i ever saw was at a custom field near my house. They had bought like 10 old car doors with the old crank windows in them, u could look through the windows to find your target, then just role down the window enough for u to stick ur barrel out and light the guy up!!*

Cheap, but some work is needed. How about just getting a crap load of sandbags, and dig trenches (3m by 1m long and maybe up to you waist deep). Fill the sand bags with the dirt you dig out, and pile them around the outside of the trench. Set up several of these alternating in depth along a line that you would want to defend ie. just infront of a tree line, with a few outposts defending your rear. Its what I do out in the bush around here, I just don't want to be bothered gathering tires and barrels and whatnot, and I'm in the Army so it comes natural to me where to position them and construct. Its a good work out and its cheap.

A good thing to do is just get a ****load of stuff rfom the junkyard. They give it to ya free. Anway ur better off in a feild than a backyard unless it's big. WE have a place that has tables and u cutomise the stuff like we put holes in the table to shoot out of. WE have tire rims to shoot out of. Tires are the best at our place though..Ilike damnfools idea. Anyway take big jugs and can and put holes in those too. best thing to cover ur stuff so u dont get wacked is the black roofing stuff. They give it to ya free at junkyards or at a home depot for cheap. those are the things we have at our place and o yea have trenches and if u can line them with concrete we have like an old irregation system in our place and it is so much fun. Build all of that stuff in fron of foxholes u can dig urself about 3 feet deep. That's what we have. It's cool good luck with it.

me and a bunch of other friends are also trying to make a paintball field just for us. and so far we are doing good. we got a butt load of wood from one of my friends parents, and we also found a lot of wood in dumpsters. And the coolest bunker that we have made has windows on them (glass windows, the ones that are on houses). i know some of you might think that is not a good idea because it might break but we tested it and it works fine! it holds up to paintball shots very well. we have played many paintball games with them and they are still fine. (keep in mind that i am using weather proof windows. they have 2 layers on them.)

well anyway another place to find wood for cheap would be your local home improvement store. you can get wood for cheap! you just have to look around.

p.s. um... how do you get those icons thingys to work that are under your names?

thank you very much giller.

well anyway, another good way to make a bunker is with a tarp. my friends and i figured this out by fooling around and shooting at a plactic tarp (those blue ones) and the paintball bounced off! it was one of the funniest things i have ever seen. and trash cans are also good for bunkers.

For me its not a problem figuring out what to use as bunkers but what to hold them up with Because most people don't have alot of trees these days.

Hay bales make great bunkers, and they are biodegradable. Many hay farmers or dairys will have old crap bales that aren't good for livestock that they will probably give away.

Another good bunker is to take 4 barrels and stack them horizontally. Use t-posts to secure them. (T-posts are the metal posts that old up barb wire fences)

A easy bunker is a star bunker. Take 2 pieces of 4x8 plywood and cut a slot halfway up the long side of each piece. then fit them together so that from above they look like an X. I'll try to draw a pic.

most tire places have stacks and stacks of old worn out tires they will GIVE you. But just remember, someday you will want to get rid of the tires and most states make you pay a buck a tire as a disposal fee, or environmental fee. Also, we have about 100 tires on our field and all of the sudden we had a swarm of mosquitoes. Our *******es didn't think about the water pooling in the old tires from the rain and it turns out its the perfect friggin place for a mosquito to breed. So drill holes in all the tires so they will drain after it rains.
If you have a home depot, or lowes or someplace like that, they will have a lumber pile out back with all of thier scrap stuff. Its a good place to get free stuff from if you ask the manager real nice.

you can also take fence posts and put them 2 inches apart on both sides (4 fence posts needed perbunker) then drop 2 by 4's in between the posts and take wire a twine and tie the 2 fence posts on each side together so its study. Make sure to pound them into the ground hehe. You could also use ply wood or treated press wood for this and it would work better.

You should get one of those old large sattelite dishes people used to have in their backyard. dig a hole and cut the dish in half and put it upsidedown over the hole. It's a very interesting bunker.

Quickest and cheapest are pallets & a screwgun. Pallets are free and a bunch of 2" drywall screws are cheap. Make t's out 2 pallets and you have cover in 4 directions.

find someone who runs by a lot of pallets at his work...

put your pallet up against a tree, or dig one post then set the pallet over that, once they stand break another pallet to fill up the spaces in the standing pallet. perfect size, works perfect!

we have atleast ten like that at our homemade field!:)

Another bunker idea that no one has mentioned yet is old refrigerators. My local appliance store had a couple just sitting out back, waiting to be picked up, and when we asked about them, the owner simply gave them to us. Although they are heavy to move around, you have little chance of having them knocked over or stolen. They make great standup bunkers, plus you can open the doors and make them even wider. Just remember to cover the space at the bottom with a 2x4 or something.

remember what eltwitcho It may sound like a good idea to get some junk like tires and fridges but some day you might not want them anymore and it will cost an arm and leg to get rid of it.

i have a neighbor who has a bamboo problem. im not talking about the little annoying shoots, i mean a yard full of 30 foot poles. anyway, he had someone cut it all down, and was gonna have it all hauled away, but i asked if i could take some of it. now i have a nice new bunker, made totally from bamboo shoots.

Pallet are probably one of the best. You can go your local store like a Pathmark or Hardware store and ask if they need them. They ususally leave them out for the garbage.

Just make sure your tires won't be holding water for long periods of time... They are perfect for Mosquieto nests. Trust me, i know... lol

Also, Try using old fridges and things, even garbage cans, anything that is big enough is good for a bunker!!!
