Is this true my friend was telling me that cheap paint curves in the air and is alot less accurate then say a $ 50 brand name paint.

It depends more on the quality of the paint then the price. I have shot really good cheap paint and really bad expensive paint.

Brittle paint will break in your barrel more then thick fresh paint.
Old paint will break more in your marker then new paint
Paint that has dimples will curve and/or break
Paint that is swollen or misshappen will curve or break in your marker.
But this has only a little to do with price.

I have paid 75 for some of the crappiest paint I have shot (field paint). I have also paid 30 and got really good paint. Generally the more you pay the better the paint but not always.

You have to be careful w/ field paint because it's not always the best. Generally new paint will be decent to excellent. Dimples or oval balls will curve. A stcok barrel on a low-end guin will also attribute to curving, and rifling makes it curve too.

Assuming that you buy it from a quality shop that stores their paint well, yes, it is true. $50 marbs will always be better than some cheap BE paint, as long as both are stored properly.

Generally you won't see any decent pro shop selling lower quality paint. Why sell 2000 for $30 when they can sell 2000 for $45? Cheap paint hurts their sales and hurts the sport when people get turned off to the sport due to crappy paint. The larger sports stores that cater to all sports will usually be the ones selling older paint that has been stored imporperly leading to soft, gushy shells and englargement.
