View Full Version : Drop down???

My friend's been talking about possible upgrades for his ION setup, and he was talking about something he called a "drop down". I thought he meant a drop forward, but he said it was something that he installed on his tank? He said it went down into his tank and helped increase efficiency by making the tank low pressure (it's a 45/4500 PMI tank). He said it had to be professionally installed since it went down into his tank.
What I want to know is what the heck is he talking about? I did a search for a "drop down" and didn't find anything. An explanation or a link or both would be appreciated. Thanks.

Never heard of something like that. Maybe he put an anti siphon in there?

Not a clue, unless he just had a different reg put on the tank. Maybe had it fixed at a low pressure output.

Or he might be full of b.s.

I think he's thinking of an anti-sipohn tube. But you can't put them on air tanks, it's pointless.

Maybe you misunderstood a little, he was thinking about it, he hasn't actually got it yet. He wouldn't lie about something he didn't have, if he knew he could never get it. I think he's just confused, or knows something I don't. I thought maybe he was talking about a reg, or maybe an on/off or QEV (thinking of things that increase efficiency). Aren't there different valves you can put on your tanks other than the ones they come with so you can increase/decrease the pressure coming out? Or is that all the reg's job? Also, what's with the pics of markers with 2 gauges down by the tank? is that just being excessive or is that actually useful? The reason I ask is because I thought it might have to do with whatever he meant.

I really doubt this is it since he was so adament about how HPA is better than Co2 (as he should be, it's sooo much better) because of the lack of liquid and everything else, which eliminates any need for a syphon tube. I did read about the anti-syphon tube though, and it did sound kind of like what he was talking about, but that can't be it, cause that's only for Co2 and it has absolutely nothing to do with effiency. Maybe he read about the anti-syphon tube thinking it was pertaining to an HPA tank instead of Co2. That still just doesn't make sense because everyone knows that there's no liquid in an HPA tank. He's the one who told me that.

Yea, I would have to say that I think he ment a drop forward.

I looked that up, and I think you may be right. I'm a little confused as to what that is and what it does. it says it's a reg? isn't there a reg on the marker already? Sorry, I have lots of questions. I want to know everything I can, and it's just not all in the stickies.

There is also a reg for the air tank. That what the max-flo is. It is removable from the bottle for easy transport when traveling on airlines.

every hpa/lpa tank comes with a reg.the difference on the maxflow is the fact that it has the tank reg,s-rail drop, psi preset adjustments, and on/off asa connected to the tank.so instead of having a normal screw in tank, its basically a tank permanately connected to an asa.so just screw it onto your gun, and connect the macroline from that one fitting that is straight to your gun.

basically its a tank with that reg on it.
