I just ordered my marker and barrel this week. I'm planning on getting a clear, cheapo, gravity fed hopper to see if I'll want an electric yet.

Hoppers seem to be in 200 round sizes and up, right? They are HUGE. Do they make any smaller ones? It seems to me that you would be harder to see, AND your vision wouldn't be blocked as much.

I went and talked to a guy that runs a paintball field and asked about bottom fed markers. He said that they are really expensive, but they allow you to see EVERYTHING.

I'm trying to learn here..... so, feel free to give suggestions. I'm looking to spend maybe $100 more on stuff, but that doesn't include an electric hopper. i'm not sure if i'll need one yet.

By the way, here's what I ordered. Almost all of it was ordered from www.expresspaintball.com. The barrel was ordered from somebody else. I spent just under $280 for all of that, no shipping or taxes! You think I got pretty good prices?

-Tippmann Model 98 Custom, all black
-Custom Products 16" two piece barrel, black.... pretty sure i'll wanna snipe since that's what i always do in multiplayer shoot-em-up computer games..... we'll see....
-12 oz chrome moly CO2 tank ??...... i am going to try different sizes to see what balances best. i may wanna get a lean forward or drop forward too. i'm getting my terms all mixed up i think. you know what i'm talking about though. ..... i have to shoot with the thing to see how it feels first..... balance is my goal....
-a butt piece for that tank
-JT spectra thermal mask
-2000 Big Balls.... i'm gonna shoot a ton to get it setup right.

I'm planning on using CO2 for now..... suggestions about that?

Thanks...........

If you have a normal viewloader with a tippman you will chop, chop and chop. You'll need a revvy hopper (electric hopper). If you have a bottom loading paintball gun, it will look like a real gun, and so wont be able to hold more than a few shots, 10 or 12. Which would be too little for a semi auto paintball marker. Live with the fact you'll have a huge blob on the top of your marker, we all did :D.

The only exeception to this would be the warp-feed, which would move the hopper from the top to the side.

Im just wondering have you gone out and play yet? I say go out and start playing with a non-motorized motor first. Doesn't the Tippmann come with a standard 200 round loader? Don't get a warpfeed for the M98. The M98 won't be able the fire that fast anyway, without the electronic kit of course. So just go out and play and then see what you need.

i haven't been able to find that much info on warpfeeds yet. i really like the idea of not having a big hopper on top of my gun, obstructing my view. i'll play next weekend though, hopefully. then i'll know more of what i want or don't want.

i'd like to go ahead and look at the warpfeeds though. where do i go? how much do they cost?

i'm not sure if the marker comes with a hopper or not. i think it may come with a black one.

thanks fellas.....

warpfeeds are a little out of you buget. look at some of the picture threads in the forum to see what they look like. they stick out of the side and maybe uncomfortable to some people. i think www.actionvillage.com sells them. the hopper comes seperately so your going to have to buy that seprately from it.

not true bro,the ats 85 has 2 blips, one that feeds firectly to the gun and one that acts like 75 round hopper,or upgrade to the 300 round foregrip/hopper under the barrel, when you reload pull the front big clip off slide a new one on and ya got 300 more shots, but they are pretty expensive clips and the gun is expensive too
