Buffing away scratches?

Does anyone know how to get those anoying minor scratches out of your barrel. They arent deep but catch your eye. Has anyone tried the car scratch removal stuff or any oter things.

If it is a ss or polished aluminum, some silver polish will remove the very minor ones. Rubbing compound will remove the larger ones...but then you have to use the polishing compound to get the mirror finish back. I have never tried getting anything out of the annodize...I don't think it can be done.
