My little cousin (7th grade) wants to get into p-ball. He has played with my stock M98 before, and really likes it. Unfortunately his parents won't allow him to order from online / catalogue. Here what I found. A JT enforcer mask (thermal I think) with a M98 Custom, hopper, barrel plug, oil, tool kit / spare parts and 12 oz CO2 for 240 or so. It from a decent shop. And was the cheapest of stores around here. I figure I could get him and myself a barrel upgrade from countypaintball (:) ) for his birthday comign up.

Do you guys think that's a fair price? I can't remeber for what I paid for mine, but I didn't get a pkg. I jsut got the gun. I already had the CO2 tank, mask, hopper, and such.

No thats not a very fair price at all ! Even the rip-off shop by me charges $215 for almost that same package.

Try and convice them into ordering online. You could get that same package from COuntypaintball or paintballgear for about $150 or $160. Those are 2 safe and reliable dealers.
Thats what i wish that i had done!

Gotta keep in mind what stores go through vs. most i-net companies. Plus that gun might come with a year warranty.I ordered online, mine didn't come with one. I don't feel like sending mine back to tippmann to get it fixed. I know people that bring theirs back to the shop, get it fixed in a week or less, and are all set, free of charge.

Since we were already mentioned, I'll pipe in:

The gun does come with a 1 year warranty through us. On top of that, if you ever did have any problems with the gun and didn't want to go through Tippmann, we'd be happy to correct it for you. We also offer payment options of COD, PayPal, etc. in case using credit cards online is your parent's concern.

Mike, you guys are awesome. I just try to get people to support local shops, get to know store owners and people in there. So if his gun does break and he needs it quickly, can't get it to you (I don't know if you do overnight for warranties) He can just stop in and tell the people what's wrong. I've gotten to know our shop owners well, and it's a good thing. But, if you are going to buy online, I would buy from county. I plan on buying a redz harnes from there soon because it's cheaper.

The 98 comes standard with a hopper, barrel plug, oil, & squeegee. All you'll need is a mask & tank. If you get a mask, go for the V-Force Armor. They are only $19.95 & don't fog. Plus replacement lenses are like $6.00. The same package you're looking for with the Armor mask shouldn't cost more than $185.00 shipped. And probably only 5.00 more for 20oz. tank.

YEa ridge boy touched on a good point.
I would recommend getting a larger size tank that the standard 9oz. that usually comes with the packages.
Most places that fill tanks charge by the fill, not by the size of the tank. So a 20oz will probably cost the same to fill than a 9oz will.

I use a 16oz on my 98, and it suits me nicely.
