Major head pain

Ok this happened about 4 years ago. it was my second time playing paintball and I had just bought a new mask. We were in the woods at a local field playing ctf. i was in the back about to run to a pile of wood. I didnt see anyone so i took off. At that time in my life i weighed about 220 lbs so you know that i had some pretty good momentum going. As i was running i slammed the top of my head into a tree branch. I thought i died. While being a noob i just stood there rubbing this huge knot with my head pointed downward. i take a break from rubbing it and guess what the secong my hand leaves my head a paintball going 300 fps nails the huge knot on my head. It hurt so bad just wanded to grab my gun and unload on the guy that shot me. i couldent do that though cuz he didnt know what had just happened to me. After that day i went out and bought a jt full headshield. And well i have only used it once before i bought a proteus.

its a story, if you're not going to have any input or contribution to the story don't post things like "okay? so what".

anyway, i've never had head pains when getting hit on the noggin.but then again i wear a sandana and headbands.but the headshield is a good investment if you're really worried about your head.

The reason it hurt so bad is that the paintball hit in the same place that the branch hit my head. Guess i didnt clarify that well.

It's ok, they just have nothing important to contribute. That must hurt like heck man. I've been nailed in the temple (earpads from my proflex fell off during a game), so i know how bad it can hurt being shot in the head. What you may want to do if the headshield becomes restrictive is get a padded hat or beanie, it can cause bounces and sometimes minimize the pain of being shot in the head, but i guess a headshield will beat that entirely. I personally would rather have a layer or two of sandana or hat covering my head over a headshield, but i just really can't stand the awkwardness it causes my head.

yeah i wear a dye sandana and bunker king headband to get some layers on there.sometimes i just wear my volcom hat.but its good to have something covering there instead of nothing.i dunno how those guys that shave their heads do it...must hurt like hell.

oh dude the headshield is just sitting in the closet. havent touched it in probably 3 years. Just got on a team and we got avatars. and now i have a buttload of hair so no worries about my head anymore. and I dont play much in the woods anymore. lol

Mmmm, Avatars. I love those things. Although the junky single clear lense sucks IMO. Got me a pair as well, finally my Proto's have competition.

OOOOHHHH, now that i read it again, i understand now. I thought you just meant that you fell over and then got shot but i missed the whole big lump thing. Well, youch, that must suck.
