I am really looking into upgrading from my 2k2 to either an Alias Timmy or an Ego(05 or 06). I have talked to a couple of local people and they say if I can get the Ego, I should go for it, but it's stretching my budget a bit. What technically makes the Ego perform better then the Alias or any other gun for that matter? I'm not really interested in looks because I think they both look good, and as for feel, they both feel good in there own way, but I really want to know tech wise why Ego is better then others.

Ego is simpler and easier to work on, for one thing. Your Alias would have less kick and be smoother than an 05 Ego, but not necessarily an 06 (lower OP). Egos, 05 or 06, both are lighter than an Alias. To tell you the truth, I would go with a used 05 Ego. But there is not going to be a huge difference between the two.

The Ego is lighter than the Alias Intimidator. It is also more effecient. The Alias will have less kick and shoot more smoothly, but I would still get the Ego.

After some tuning (higher dwell), and some bolt cutting and/or upgrades, the Ego can have just as much if not less kick the the Alias. But, yes, out of the box the Ego will kick more.

I think the Ego is a "cleaner" version of the Intimidator. Things are nicely packed inside and fairly simple. The Intimidator is still easier to fix and take apart. If I had to work on a gun, I'd choose a timmy. I had a bad experience with an Ego some time ago and swore them off, but I realized I never gave it much of a chance.

Egos do seem to have more "kick" stock than most high-end guns out there.
Nothing makes an Ego better than a Timmy, its just the way people use them.

I hate to prod here, but in what respects is it more complex? Compared to my brother's 2k5 Empire Timmy, the Ego is as straightforward as can be. Rammer, Noid, Bolt/Breech, Trigger Frame, LPR and Reg is all there is.

Went to a local shop and got to try out the 06 Ego and 06 Infamous. Stock, the Ego friggin rips and the infamous does too, but the ego seemed so much more smoother. Even with the white box box paint, it was good. As for kick, I could feel the Ego kick is a little more, but wasn't as noticable. So I am pritty much sold on an Ego.

Yeah I would have to say an Ego is simpler than a Timmy, IMO. Besides the disgusting feel of Timmy frames :yuck:

If you break parts on an Intimidator, they are easily found just about anywhere.

When I get mine, I'll do a full 100% comparison for the forums.

Looking forward to it. If I didn't have finals coming up, I would have time to make one. Maybe if you haven't done it by the time they're over I'll go ahead on it.
