I go paintballing every weekend with my dad and we go to as many scenario games as possible. I have ordered many many many products from OPSGEAR so I am not worried about the serivice. I got my dad, who is going to be 54, into paintball and we have been playing for a few years. He uses my A-5 (which I kind of gave to him) and he has a Flatline Barrel, Tapco T6 6 Position Stock, OPSGEAR CQB 6 Inch Barrel, Sling and Sling Swivel, OPSGEAR M4 hand guard (on stock 8.5" barrel), JCS 98C to A-5 barrel adaptor, Maddman Spring Kit and sometimes he uses my Tasco 1x 30mm Red Dot Scope. He uses CO2 and is buying a Nitro tank very soon. Anyway, his birthday is coming up and I want to supprise him with an OPSGEAR kit for his A-5. A big scenario game is coming up also and I am going to give it to him then. I could spend up to $200. Since he wants his A-5 to be like a sub-macinegun I think either the OPSGEAR MP5 PDW Kit ( http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.322764/sc.22/category.1216/it.A/id.3576/.f ) or the OPSGEAR UMP Kit ( http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.322764/sc.22/category.1216/it.A/id.3791/.f ) would be good. I have allready decided on what little accesories (mostly internal upgrades like the a aluminum powertube) to buy him, but I am still not sure about the kit. Ive heard good things about both. Some bad things ive heard is that you cant use the flatline if the UMP shroud is on and Im afraid the folding stock may become too loose over a while. If any one has any of these kits can you tell me what the pros and cons are. Ive read the reviews for them but I still dont know because there arnt many reviews. I would like to buy the kit because you save money but If its better I would buy the upgrades seperately.

If you want a sub-machinegun look IMHO i like the UMP kit alot better than the mp5 one. However since the flatline can't be used with it you have to figure out whether you play CQB or longdistance woodsball more. The UMP kit is a really good CQB kit. As for the stock, i purchased the AK Folding Stock because i like the looks of it better and it not being a fixed stock i can fold it which is great for working corners and windows. It takes about a second or two to pop it back out and fold it again. You get use to it with practice. OPSGEAR folding stocks and as a matter of fact anything OPGEAR is very durable and strong. Go to the Site and watch the video of the folding stock, you can find in the stock section and it should say "View Demo". In the video it shows a 200+ guy doing pull ups from the stock. The only thing why i wouldn't want to get the smg kits is because the stocks are fixed, besides the kits with the MP5 Sliding Stock. If you buy the UMP Kit and replace the stock with a folding one it would cost 180 USD. If you join the forum they give you a discount code and you save 10% on your entire purchase, and for every future purshase you make. That should cover shipping. If your still unsure go to the OPSGEAR Forum and check out the pics/comments people have posted. There are alot of MP5 and UMP mods that you can check out on the forum.
Hope this helps!

keep it original. Get the mp5 pdw. Looks alot better and alot stronger. Was what i was gonna buy but since the real gun has no barrel ut destroyed the whole look of it so i decided to move my a5 into the rifle area. Having the flateline will make it llook like a silencer which would look ******!! do the mp5!

Ok, Im still not sure which kit my dad would like better. But like spoon said, just about every MP5 has no barrel. Im hopping the OPSGEAR 6" CQB barrel wont ruin the whole look. My Tippmann 98 weighs 14 pounds and thats the reason we want a lighter gun. If I buy the UMP kit I have lots of weaver base accesories that I can put on the shroud at my house. My dad likes to keep things simple and was in the army so his strategy is shoot alot and move up. The army taught him that but I try to tell him paintball is different. If he doesnt like what I bought him, he will just put it aside and I wasted $200. I forgot to mention that he has RT on his A-5. I forgot because I never see him use it. Im leaning toward the MP5 kit because he can use the flatline, its alot cheaper than the UMP kit, (If I buy a floding stock with the UMP kit) and the A-5 is based on the MP5, so the look is already there. Its out of stock now, and if it doesnt come in by May 15 I will just buy the UMP kit, which I like too.
Thanks for the info.
