well, heres a simple answer to all of those people who look down on the ion.

A) can your DM6 fire 34 bps with paint stock? No, thats what i thought...

B) does your DM6 get 2000 shots off a 68/45 fill? No again? really?

C) does your DM6 have all the fireing modes for all of the major tournaments stock, w/o having to change the board?

D) It's not a box, its an electro pneumatic bolt out back design, much like that of Intimidators and Egos.

im sure once tabris gets here, he'll give you better comebacks....

The 06 Cyborg doesn't look like a box though I must admit it took a while for it to grow on me. But at the time the main draw for me was the price of it, I got it back in january and I wasn't willing to drop the money for an 06 Timmy or 06 Ego at the time and I found the Borg after doing alot of research. And I mean alot, I went from an Imp to an Ion to a Shocker and then I probably researched every popular high-end marker out there and read websites and gave myself sensory overload. What I came to was, for the money out of the box, the 06 Cyborg was the best value and only required an asa and some macline to use.
The 06 Cyborg doesn't require any upgrades honestly and the only ones I would consider is the feedneck and the trigger. I changed my feedneck for a VP no-rise because it was lower then the stock one and also used an allen screw, not a hand twisting one. The trigger would be based on feel and personal preference but is honestly not required out all. The Borg is probably the most perfect marker out of the box for the money and also holds amazing resale.
The DM6 feels odd because of the new ultra lite grip frame and while it may be quieter and have less kick then other markers it also requires an HE bolt kit to get good usage of it's air effeciency (assuming the dm6 doesn't come with an HE kit, the other DM markers never did and I'm too tired/lazy to double check). It also uses a spool design for the bolt which gives it the famous low kick and quiet sound but there are around 14 o-rings on the bolt and bolt assembly and even if one wears out and springs a leak you have a 1 in 14 chance of getting it fixed the first time.
The DM6 and DM/PM markers aren't beginner markers because of this fact and require a good amount of knowledge to keep it properly working. By no means is it a bad gun it's just very high maintenance in my eyes as I see at least one leaking everytime I play it seems. I have also read in PGi, I can't remember which month, they had tested a DMC and the airport leaked out of the box and the detents also blocked the bolt from moving forward until they added an o-ring on the detents to push them out of the breech a bit farther. That's unexcusable in my eyes when you're paying $1300+ for a marker.
But back to the Borg it's air effecient out of the box and requires honestly no upgrades and is very easy to maintain. You can remove the lpr and internals all the way back to the ram cap in about 15 seconds and that even includes lining them up so you put them back in place properly. It's easy to use and handles like a dream, it balances out perfectly with a barrel, tank, and full hopper and it's very easy to walk as well. I let somebody hold the Borg at the field when they were having a tourney and the kid must have been about 14 or so and he flipped out at how balanced and light it felt. And when he finally pulled the trigger her freaked again because it's such a light trigger, then I lost my Borg for about five minutes as the rest of his team held it and got a feel for it.
But the board as well, 11 firing modes stock, NXL, NPPL, PSP legal and I believe even Millenium legal. It has two dipswitches as well, I believe the top one is tourney lock so all you have to do is flip it and then you're in tourney lock. So you don't have to short the board out like some other boards like the early frenzy boards and I believe the Tadao; nice boards but not fun when you have to short it with a staple or paper clip. The grip is amazingly clean, everything plugs into the board and the board itself is a little smaller then a 9v battery and has a blinding LED on it that's easy to program and read.
Both markers have theirs strengths but for the money and ease of use and reliability the 06 Cyborg beats all others hands down in all honesty. My Dragon timmy is nice but it has it's issues too, I've been fixing it up since day one since the previous owner beat it to hell, but the Borg is just fantastic. Not to mention when you walk out onto a field you can basically yawn at all the other markers and say, yeah it's nice but everybody has those. I wanted something unique and the Borg brought speed, reliability, and a unique touch to the field.

The Cyborg totally owned today. Had my lpr at like 50-55 and my hpr around 190-200... totally just kicked butt. Alot of people liked it, four people shot it and were all impressed. One was a ref who just loves to try out new markers and was excited to hear I had an 06 so I let him dry fire at the chrono.
He handed it to the new ref, I think it was his first day and he thought it was bouncing. That's how light the trigger is. The other ref had to assure him four times it wasn't bouncing and he was shooting that fast with his fingers. Just very awesome performance again. The other two kids were impressed with how smooth it was too and the balance.

yeah, depending on how poor i am at the end of the fall after my birthday (oct. 25), i'll either be getting a Nexus Ego or a Borg. or an FS7/8, i shot one of them, and im totally in love.

Nah, Kai on PBN is Chuck Norris. I'm still learning the Borg from a technical stand point but as far as comparisons sure, I'll take Chuck Norris.
