I was wondering how people aim with vertical feeds. And why do they put sigt rails when the feed blocks it?

Thanks.

I was going to buy the JT Excellerator 4.0 but I the vertical feed got me confused

Many people with vertical feeds sight down the side of their barrel, or just walk the shots into the target. The sight rail is there in case you want to get an offset, which will move the sight off to the side so you can see around the feed.

i look at where the barrel is pointed, and i know where my paint is going to go . . . after you play enough you will be able to tell where your shots are going to by where you point the gun . . .

I aim ether down the side, make a rough estimate and adjust, or use my Armson ProDot :) (doesn't require an unobstructed view... works with a centerfeed without problem.)

They put sight rails behind the feed necks, because with some sights, you keep both eyes open. One eye looks through the site and one looks at where you're aiming. Your eyes put the two images together and you see a red dot on your target.

After you play enough you don't need to aim. I know where the ball is heading just by how the positioning of my arm. When I'm off a little, I just walk it on from there. Of course, I have a right feed, so I could go over the top if I wanted....

if u have to aim over the top with vertivle feed try and look at the tip of your barrel. sometimes u can look around the feed tube like this and see the target.

Where to find an offset is actually something I'm looking into at the moment. You might try a local gun store or show, and ask if they have an offset for a dove-tail sight. Keep in mind that the rings mounted on many offsets are themselves mounted on a rail, so they'd probably work fine for whatever you use once you take the rings off.

The Armson is one such sight.

I'd venture to say the vast majority of sights used for paintball are red-dot sights like that. Hunting sights are too expensive and fragile, and people tend to get upset if you're shining a laser sight in their eyes.

I just aim down the side of my barrel, and watch where my paintballs are landing. I hope you guys are keeping both eyes open when you aim.
