hey ever sence i bought my shocker my dad has complained about his tippmann 98. now he is getting a bouns at work and wants me to get him a new gun 800 or under. he wants the best accuracy and range first, and rof second. one problem he has with his 98 is he never chronos it up, he leaves it at like 211 or so and he can't shoot far. he wants a gun where he can shoot and hit someone on the first shot at like 150 feet away. that is kinda unrealistic, but what suggistions do you have?

keep the 98 with progressive barrel and upgrade it and chrono it up?
buy a new marker?

He is really scared about gun matience though. he is afraid to take his 98 apart cause he thinks he will mess it up. i can do matience on pretty much any gun and can teach him how to. i need help!!!!

eh......ur dad sounds like a wuss. the first day i got mine and opened it up...dats da first thing i did. and i immediately figured out how the gun works. its not dat complicated like a shocker, impulse, cocker, or any other thing like dat. tell ur dad to get a shocker or intimmy or impulse. i also suggest the automag....cuz its pretty reliable, fast, simple design, yet outstanding performance. also...if ur dad is thinkin about the 800$ range...he prolly needs an air system with it. i think an automag, couple upgrades, and a suffice nitro system would be totally perfect.

k don't laugh now, but if u'r dad would be willin to play pump... and u can find one on ebay get a carter buzzard. They've got the quality of a pump with amazing accuracy and range. u did say rof comes second, and it does have an auto trigger, it also comes stock with an L stock if he like the feel of a stock. It comes stock with a lapco auto spirit barrel and hogue rubber grips. I've used one and could hit a paper plate at 100 yards at our highschool stadium. I'm pretty sure that considered good accuracy. For a picture go to http://www.pumpplayers.com, and click on gun picks then CARTER!!* Oh by the way the cost bout $500 if u want one in perfect condition..

Well, if your dad wants a real good gun, I'd suggest the timmy. Why? Well aside from the features, it's a stacked tube design, which are soooo simple to understand. it's got a few regs added on, which all the maintenance necessary is to change o-rings or lube it, just think of it as a piston, and it's got a solenoid, which you ignore. Do not touch, or think about touching, you dont need to. That said, it's a great gun, and it aint too complicated. If your dad isnt mechanically inclined, a cocker could be a bad idea. not because they break alot, but because they are complicated and it involves a bit of knowledge on your gun. That's my suggestion, and believe it or not, the timmy runs off CO2, tried it the other day, and I had no problems, though I only shot 240 rounds

El twitcho made a good point about the intimmy, but your dad may also like a used LED angel. Try to find both of these guns at your field and ask the people if your dad can try it.

how about a powerfeed mag with a good nitro/reg set up and a nice barrel?
