Hey i am hoping someone can help me with some of my questions thanks. hylord@hotmail.com

First, i would like to know how to turn my tippmann 98 custom into the silver color without spending the 50 bucks on the skin. If someone wants to sell me there skin for like 20 bucks i will do that.

Second, what barrel should i get. Dye Boomstick or Lapco Bigshot. Is there a difference between the two barrels. Like is there a problem i should know about one of them. Is the boomstick the best barrel that you can get? I do not want the flatline because it is horrible and i dont want anyone to tell me that that is what i should get.

Last, My only upgrade is a new venturi bolt. Can someone tell me what i should get in order.
1.Barrel
2.RT Trigger
3.Full Boar Rear Cocking Shadow
4.Dye Sticky Grip

If there is anything else that is more important than those please tell me. I know that the sticky grip isnt that important but i heard its pretty cool. So just ignore that.

Thank you everyone for your help i really appreciate it.

THANKS :D

Barrel should be your first priority, Get a lapco bigshot, they are excellent barrels at the fraction of a cost of a Boomstick, and perform the same if not better, they are around $50.

If you want a very quiet and accurate barrel, get the Smart Parts All American. This is what i'm gonna get this summer.

As for other upgrades, what i did is got drop forward (well it was free with my gun because of troubles) and i also got a anti-siphon, you can also get an expansion chamber. I also ordered Dye sticky grips, but they aren't a priority. If your a speedball player get the RT, Double trigger, and 12v revy or ricochet. 12v being first.
I am not a speedball player so i wont be getting these any time soon.

Barrel is #1, definitely. I'd agree with the last poster that if you're willing to pay, get a Smart Parts All American. I just got mine, and I am VERY happy with it. Extremely accurate, and very, very quiet, which is a good thing on a Tippy. ;)

About that flatline slam...don't make generalizations like that. You're certainly entitled to an opinion, but evidently you've ignored all the people that have actually taken the time to install their Flatlines properly, and have very little trouble with them. THey're not all THAT bad. Sheesh.

After that, I'd go with the Full Boar RC/RVA...

You said you're going to get a bolt, I wouldn't. I've heard nothing but bad about them. They don't do anyting good or the opposite. So I'd save the money. The barrel, J&J two piece. If you decide you want a longer or shorter end, you can always buy another tip.

The Bigshot is the better of the two, especially considering the price difference. The boomstick is not the best barrel out there; most people consider the Freak system the best, and CountyPaintball swears by the Psycho Ballistics Aradus barrel.

i have the J&J 14" ceramic and have been very pleased with it. i would agree with the previous posts that the barrel is one of the first upgrades you should get for a m98
