What is the best of these guns?A tippmann 98 a spyder shutter or a spyder SE?

Really a matter of preference. Tippmans are made to last but are harder to take apart and assemble when compared to a spyder. A lot of upgrades available, Tommy Gun feel to it.
Spyder, takes metric wrenches, a lot of upgrades available for it though. Spyder Shutter and SE virtually the same, just annod differently, SE doesnt have trigger guard(most fields require this). Other than that...no real difference.

I could always update the SE to make it like the spyder for less, well thats what someone told me

You could...all you really need is a trigger gaurd(they sell those now) and a dropforward and its the same...just different color. If the price difference will allow you to do that, then do that.
No sense in paying more money for the same gun you can get cheaper.
I would recommend the tippmann 98 over the spyders.
Sure, it does come down to feel, but the trigger pull on the m98 is amazing and the best (i feel) in its class.
There are also a lot of upgrades that came out for the m98, like reactive trigger, low pressure kits, and electronic trigger. Well, and there's also the flatline option aswell.
The Spyder is also a good gun, but I just want to present the other side. I would definitely recommend the model 98.
Your best bet would be to try out the guns at your local pro shop.

cant you make the spyder SE shoot faster because I rather get a spyder because it is silenter and you can fix it eisier+the upgrades, but I raher get the tippmann for the cheapness fastness of the trigger and and the durability so I dont know the shutter is out.
When both the Spyder SE and Tippmann 98 are stock, yes, the SE is quieter. But all you need it a better barrel. A guy I know has a tippmann 98 with a boomstick. That thing is quieter than many cockers. I tend to differ on the issue of upgrades. The Model 98 has become one of the best selling paintball guns in history, hence the large amout of upgrades that have come out and that will continue to come out. I like the model 98 so much better. But thats me.
I have never heard anyone say they didn't like the tippman 98. I've asked Spyder SE owners if they like they're gun, and many say "it's okay". Tippmann owners say "THis gun rocks"

Flash, never said tippmans werent good guns. Was just telling him no real difference in Spyder Shutter over Spyder SE. I personally own a piranha, but I'm not pushing that because he didnt ask about it.
I was simply answering questions, had he asked more questions about the M98, I would have gladly answered them to the best of my ability.

Tippman or spyder compact2000. The M98 will outlast and perform just as well as most markers up to the $500 range, the spyders can be hyped up to $700 or more and still be a junker(except the compact2000 for less than a C note)the 2000 is actually a pretty durable unit(but get extra inner seals). If ya get a spyder (any of them) heads up on the ball detents & other stuff just "falling" off of them. What ever you get, first upgrade should be the barrel, then goto compressed air if ya got some buckeroos burning a hole in your pants. Play seldem? get the spyder2000 best marker out there for the tiny investment.

what is cheaper updating a SE or updating a 2000 to get a shutter?I read reviews they siad it chopped balls, but I could buy a new barrel but I still like the design of the SE.First of all what is the best without upgrades? And how easily can you take it apart?

the best thing to do is find out what kind of things u want to upgrade in a gun... because u don't want to pay for a gun that has upgrades u don't want.. or want to swap for a better part... then try the different guns out and see if u like the way it feels and performs stock... because if it performs well.. u can bet that when u upgrade it.. it will be a whole lot better

I dont like the way that the compact 2000 only has one handle on it.I like having two handles on a gun.

If you dont feel omfortable shooting a gun, you shouldnt get it. Although, if you buy a compact 2000 for $90, a $40 xchamber, and a $10-20 hard line, you will have a gun that has all the same parts as the SE, but it will preform much better, and you will spend no more then $150!

I recommend a lapco bigshot, j&j ceramic, or if you want to get a higher end barrel a smart parts all american.

I could just upgrade a tippmann 98 what do you think would be more expensive making it silent increasing accuracy getting a new barrel, but its a pain to clean I heard.

If you get a m98, you will enjoy it. The trigger pull is nice, and you can easily make modify it down to 1-2 lbs. A lot of the fun of the gun is upgrading it. It has upgrades ranging from new springs to electro conversions. As far as it being hard to clean and maintain; it isnt.

Between the M98 and the Sypder SE which one is better for indoor play? Also in the end wouldn’t it cost a lot more to get the M98 up to the level of an SE i.e. (expansion chamber, double trigger, etc).

no the compact 2000 and the tippmann 98,I dont need the double trigger what does the expansion chamber do?What else would I need,I would get a compact but its cool how many balls you can shoot
