I was thinking of getting a stiffi 16'' for a sp-8, but I was wondering which bore size would be best. I'm not planning on getting a barrel kit. The sizes for the barrel are .695, and .691. If I'm going to be using .68c paintballs which one will be better?
Also I've been trying to understand this UMS Apex Adapter, but I'm not quite sure.
"The UMS Apex Adapter is a precision made adapter that allows the Apex Barrel to be installed on nearly any barrel.
Will fit any 7/8" OD Barrel with at least 1" of flat surface at the tip. Installation is simple. Unscrew the Apex adapter from the Apex barrel and remove. Install the Apex adapter on your regular barrel over the UMS adapter sleeves."
^ Thats from the description.
What is an OD barrel?

As for the boew size, go for the .691. It will accomodate all the the paint you'll be shooting, except for a few. .695 is really small. And for the apex thing, don't get the apex it is really not worth it. Sitck to your stiffi, you'll ove it.

I would recommend a 14" .691 bore. Anything over 14" doesn't increase accuracy.

I was thinking of getting the 16'' stiffi, because I wanted to put on the Apex Barrel. The Sp-8 comes with a 14 inch and thats not enough room I think to attach it. I still don't understand why you dislike the Apex Barrel Jacks, but sall good.
Still wondering tho... What is a "7/8" OD Barrel"?

I used the apex 3 weeks ago and it shot extremely far but went nowhere near the target. I don't care too much for distance as I'm mainly speedball, but I was in the woods. It'll be good for scaring people:D.
The OD adapter thing probably goes over the end of the barrel and you stick hte apex on there. 14" Should be fine as I doubt the adapter is more than 3". But you'd be spending upwards of $160 for the adapter, apex and stiffi.

I would also like to know what an OD barrel is. I have an Apex barrel and I love it. I can point my gun at my target, fire and hit who I'm shooting at without having to worry about arcing my shots.

Well, I found out OD barrel means Outer-Diameter. So I'm guessing 7/8'' is a standard for the OD of barrels?
Anyway, would the adapter thing work on a ported barrel if I did get it?

Yup, that's what I said:). It would have to work on a ported barrel. They wouldn't make it for unported barrels, as only a few are unported. But the balls may do some funny stuff as the rubber paddle would slow it down alot.
If I were you I would figure out the length of the shorud from the barrel threads and see if you can just use the apex alone. But I gues the apex is just a "shroud" on a Tippmann stock barrel. So, the stiffi would possible increase the accuray. Now that I think about it, go for your idea, sounds cool and you can report back here w/ you results. My bet is it will be more accurate w/ a stiffi.
