Ion overrated?

I might not have an Ion (i have an Electra) but to me it seems like its a god or something. Now im not saying its a bad gun (ive tested and its cool) but I think too many ppl are hyping it up too much. Sure its only $200 bucks right now, but for me I think there are other guns that can hang with it like the Electra (though its consider a low end gun), sure the rocking trigger takes getting used to and its not legal in mots toruneys. But then Its my opion and just like u u have a opion too, I guess sometimes we shoudint relay on someones review and just read the specs on the gun and choose what we want in a gun, like I wanted to shoot 30 bps that a stock Ion can't get and the the fact that I dont do torrnemets yet (srry about my suk-e spelling), while the Ion has its Pros too that I wasnt interstead in (aka an eye for one thing) I guess what im trying to say is dont belive somethings other ppl tell u and just go with your gut,heart or whatever u go with to choose the right gun that is right for. As for what I think of the Ion, I think Its a better then good and maybe great gun. Its just MY opion.

Don't believe manufacturer specs. The board is electronically capped at 30 bps, but you'll never pull that fast with your fingers, and the burst and full auto settings are probably capped around 10. Plus, no loader will feed that fast, so you would chop (and no, ACS doesn't work well).

Yeah great it says capable of 30 bps. First off that's their estimated mechanical limit. It's never going to shoot that fast and you get over half of that. Secondly Almost any gun can physically (sp) cycle as fast or faster then a Spyder. Thirdly learn english.

And lastly, the gun you rock almost does nothing to change the game you play. I remember some kid, with an ion in fact, made fun of me when I was still rocking my Piranha. The next game I bunkered him and made sure I added a little extra, so don't listen to people when they brag about their gun.

i dont think you need to/can fire 30bps, and fields might not allow 30 bps

but yeah, i bought an ion. It is a lot of bang for your buck but i do think the price drop made the hype even bigger

Yeah it's not that great of an argument. The ion beats the electra in every way possible. Read all the other threads. And what loader can feed 30 BPS? None, if you can even get that high, which I doubt.And a spyder can't cycle that. The new REX guns could become the new ion though.
edit: iF you bought a Reloader B(going buy Uziel's tests), it feeds 26 BPS. That is currently the fastest loader on the market. In theory shooting 30 BPS, you'd go through a Reloader B in 5 seconds. I sure hope you have alot of money for paint, because you'd go through a case in 66.67 seconds.

i agree ions are over rated ya they can shoot 30bps but 3/4 the people that own it cant even reach 20 i mean come on.

ions are not over rated. they are the best gun under $300 and that's all any one really says.

VLocitys are faster than Reloader B's. 35+ bps drop tests, around 30 on gun. No one can shoot 30 in semi even with a rocking trigger because rocking triggers don't speed up your fingers.

yes.. ion's are overrated and full of hype. people who make ion sound really good are the ones that never shot a true high-end. or just jealous because they can't afford it so they have to hype up the ion to make themself feel good. but don't get me wrong.. its the best $200 gun.

that's why everyone who have ion or better turn to ramping boards, you really can't reach speeds higher than 15 bps with you finger alone, i don;t care how good your reflexes are or how much you walk the trigger during class in high school

2 major things speak loudly againt ion in my mind, first can;t use co2 which is still #1 choice in fields (whoever brings ani-siphone argument reaserach it first, and then find that it doesn;t always work), #2 its a ***** to service, its like my rainmaker, gotta take the whole morker apart to clean and service it, and with spyder electra or pirahna evo you just pop one pin out ;)

I just picked up a WGP Sniper 2 and I am happier with it then the ion, which I am currently in the process of selling. It is a good gun for the price, but over rated. Most people who end up buying them break them because they do not know how to care for it and such. (OMG 17BPS FOR $200!@#$ *screws in co2*)

I think it's over-rated, but I also think it's by far the best gun for the price. I agree with one thing you said...well I can't find it...in fact you might not have even said it, anyway. Yeah I think it's over-rated, but something that good is going to get over-rated, it's just the way it works.

Please tell me that an A/S doesn't work. Even Smart Parts says it works. My Ion hasn't breathed a smidgen of HPA. It works great.

Actually, Viewloader quote 35bps in drop tests, and 25bps on marker, but on my Tadao'd G7 Angel, it recorded a peak (not average) rate of fire of 24bps, while the Reloader B hit 26bps twice during one continuous burst. So not only was the peak feed rate faster than that of the VLocity, the average feed rate would be higher as well. As was stated earlier in this thread, you cannot always believe the manufacturers claims - they are after all trying to convince you to buy their products rather than someone elses. On my Angel at least, the Reloader B was the faster loader.

Anyway, I didn't really come here to talk about loaders, but to end a thread descending in to flames.
