ok I'm thinking of getting an all american barrel.....people say there pretty good and quiet (I'm a rec player so that actually can help sometimes).....but I kinda like the look of the big daddy kuz it has the teardrop porting, which I'm assumeing is purly cosmetic. from what I hear the big daddy has an all american back and a teardrot front....does anybody know whether there is a difference in these barrels? I mostly shoot marbs .690....I'm really only interested in bore quality and accuracy.....

They both have pretty much the same accuracy which is really good. Marbalizer paintballs are around .686 - .688 (small-medium).
Since you are a rec player I wouldn't spend that much money on a $80- $120 like the all american and big daddy.
The J&J Ceramic barrels are said to be just as accurate as the All American and just as quiet. The J&J Ceramics now come in a black color. They also shoot through breaks so you dont have to pull out the squeegie during game (you can wait after the game). The All American or Big Daddy wont shoot through breaks.
The Big Daddy barrels are running out of stock because they arent made anymore so the ones left will be too long or too big of a bore size and same with the All Americans.
However the All American 2002 just came out.
The J&J Cermic will have the best fit with marbalizers because the bore size is usually .687 - .689 with those barrels.
The Ceramic can be found at www.bbtpaintball.com for only $40 half the price of the AA2k2.
If you don't want the ceramic then get the All American 2k2.

I am not a fan of the big daddy. That pretty teardrop porting makes those barrels noticeable louder than the standard All American. Soyboy is right again; I would go with a J&J ceramic. I had one, but sold it to pay off my rare J&J 2 peice ceramic barrel. I love it! At a fraction of the cost, you really can't beat J&J.
