Alright, I need some help and thought this would be a good place to start.

I'm 16 so you can imagine how tight on money I am while only getting paid $120 every 2 weeks.

Anyway, I have owned a Tippmann 98C for over 4 months.... Love the friggin thing to death I mean I HAVE NEVER OILED OR CLEANED IT SINCE I GOT IT:o and it still works flawlessly (Well sorta, oh and I can't count how many times I have chopped balls:goody:). I bought a response trigger for it for bragging rights you know the usual show your friends you can blow bark off a tree trick with 15bps and a regular hopper:crazy:. I bought a 14" barrel for it I don't know much about it though, it says tmXCEL Barrels on the side though. Also, just a simple CP drop forward on it. The paint it coming off of it all over the place and it's been getting kinda beat up:(.

This is what I'm hear for: I stopped by my local PB Store Total Eclipse, and I seen a Black Phsyco Ballistics silver bullet on the rack for $99. I don't know if it is the mechanical or the LCD/LED versions, but it looked nice. I'm trying to get some advice on which is a better deal. Either I take my pay and buy the gun with $20 to find some stuff for it (if there is anything that I can get for it that is $20) or I stick with my tipp and just add a Cyclone hopper and buy another bolt for it.. (I still don't know if there is any difference between a striker, bolt, or a hammer, I'm kinda worried about buying the wrong thing) so I'm at a major mental block on what is best.

If any of ya'll know of a gun that is GREAT somewhere around $120 to $240 then please spill those guts I need to know.

THANKS!!!!!!

PS: I'm a woodsball player:peep:

You can get an awesome gun for 240 bucks. It just depends what you like..... Tippys last forever..... they are just not HIGH quality. I dont know about that other gun you saw..... Do you know why your gun is chopping balls? Is it bad paint or because the bolt is messed up?

keep your tippy silver bullets suck

I'm not worried about the ball chopping, normally that is my fault anyways... I'm trigger happy and I like to place my gun on somthing and act like it's a WorldWarII Machine gun with a gravity feed hopper so that is the reason why I'm chopping.. The bolt is wearing away from me not lubing it so thats mainly why I'm thinking about buying a new bolt if I go that way. BTW, what is a good bolt that is under $55 for the tipp, I NEED to replace all the inside parts... Thats also another reason why I want a different gun cause this thing is getting old :P

Seriously, no. Don't buy a silver bullet. In the $200 range you have many options, but you'll also need to be aware that these options need to be cared for. There is NO gun that can survive without maintenence like a Tippy can. Period. Any other gun you buy will require occasional lubing and a good cleaning from time to time (usually anywhere from 1-2 cases or before and after a day of play)
Consider the following:
Ion
Wrath

Please PM RCXpaintball on these forums (he's an agent) on what kind of special pricing he can get you. You won't find a lower price anywhere if you're on a budget. Promise.

Even though I own a e-bladed (electronic) cocker, I will say that an ION is such an awesome deal for low budget players like yourself (no offense) But def. keep it clean and read the owners manual and the stickies in the Smart Parts forum on how to take the gun apart and clean it. There is no use on spending more money for a gun and not taking care of it. Good luck with the gun......

drtalent: I would like a better description on it please... I mean just telling me that they suck doesn't help much. Why do they suck, whats wrong with them you know

Well I'm worried cause umm I'm 16 and I don't own a CreditCard to purchase things online. So that means I have to get someone at Total Eclipse to order it for me.

The only reason why I never clean the thing is cause I don't know how lol, nor do I have the tools to do so....... But, I know most of these guns have an easy field strip system in place... My friend owns a sexy Pirannha (If I can spell it) and he is stupid as can be and he even knows how to clean his out cause it has that simple field strip.

If I get a gun that will need care I will treat like my computer, always taking care of it and cleaning it out. I have OCD (obsessive compalsive disorder) so I have issues with it not being clean and bug free.. Thats why I get annoyed at my tippman when I can feel paint in the gun and I can't get to it :/

Get a good, field strip-able gun. Like a spyder or a pirranha. You can strip both of them easy and can make them to be fairly decent. I have a Spyder Shutter (stock) that is field strippable. Its in very good shape. PM me if you want more info on the gun. I will sell it to you cheap so you can have a good gun.

Silver bullets are open bolt blowback SPyder knockoffs that weigh the better part of a ton and accept minimal upgrades. You'd be better served by a Spyder in that price range, but there's many guns that now outperform Spyders by a wide margin, namely the ones I listed.
I don't reccomend a 'cocker for you if maintenence sounds intimidating.

I don't see how I'm gonna be able to buy it... My parents are EXTREMELY strick about where money goes and how. They would rather me go to wally mart to get a gun then send the money in an envelope..

Also, it the Kingman MR1 a decent gun, I know spyders are popular but if you have any insight on that please spill the guts :)

I looked at the ion decent good reviews but the BIG GAME is this weekend so unless I can sell my tipp for $100 then there will be no way of me getting one by that time and I am not plannning on useing my tipp (The wobble on the hopper feed is annoying) my ex gf will probably use it ;). I will look at the wrath and post back

They're down to $230 for the "LTD" version, which is an improved version of the original.

get an ion. well, then you would need an electric hopper and HPA tank. hm, i'm still going to say get the ion over any gun right now.
at my local shop they are 200 bux. hopefully its the same over at yours.

The Ion is not field strippable though. If you are thinking about the Wrath go for the LTD version. Wraths=$200, Wrath LTDs=$230(fixes all the problems of normal wrath)

TheLeafTalker

I don't Ion just cause it is'nt easily field strippable..... The wrath I will admit looks nice I like it alot but I'm desperate for a gun right now so I doubt I'm gonna beable to hold myself back until I get enough money if you kow what I mean.. I can ask the owner of the shop if he can put me on some kinda payment plan, he did it with my big bro why not me ;).

Also, the REX Paintball line, seeing that it is the same as the odyssey o3m line would'nt that be decent quality, and they are around $100 atleast on ebay and here. PBReview doesn't have a price.

Ions aren't field strippable, but you also will probably NEVER have to take it apart outside of your house. They don't chop, so cleaning on the field isn't necessary. They are kind of confusing to take apart the first couple times, but after you learn how it's really easy.

EDIT: The only experiences I have seen with Wrath's ended about 15 minutes after they started. One person sold it, the other used his Spyder the rest of the day. My friend's brother had a Wrath and it didn't work out of the box, and the techs at the field couldn't fix it, but I guess the techs were also idiots so that's not saying much. Wrath's don't seem very reliable to me.

Well crap happens lol, but these REX guns are looking decent especially the M1 and 2.... I'm emailing TMX for a price assesment and maybe a billing plan.
