i bought one of these when my tippman died(very old, before m98s were even out) and since i couldnt find any parts for it, and i was low budget i got a triad with the foregrip on it, is it a decent gun for rec.\woodsball, i havent been able to use it yet, how do they fire, i heard fast and hard, but i dont believe that out of a viewloader.... is it a reliable gun, also long lasting?

if it is metal then yes only have to check your striker plug if it is plastic you might want to replace it it will warp over time

Triad is basically a top cocking Orion, and they are very solid, they will shoot good even if you get little dirt in and the bolt will get scratched

Triads are great, i had one for about two years. And its alot better than the orion, the orions just a paint blender. Something about the breech or bolt just chops the balls like crazy.

Sweet zombie Jesus!!!
Why in god's name would you post this four times?!? And it doesn't even make sense! How does any blind, non-acs marker chop more than another? It's physically impossible, unless the bore was incredibly tight, and then the bolt likely wouldn't move!

Woah, a 4 post. I havnt done that since 'nam....
The orion was a pos. I had a quantam forcing balls through the detents! It kept double feeding and was chopping like mad. Also the bolt was extremely heavy and there was a lot of kick, so all the paint in my hopper would bounce up lol. I did some mods to my triad though (one i didnt sell till much later). I replaced the trigger spring with a pen spring, put a screw behind the trigger and a piece of foil on top of the sear. It shortened the pull and made it extremely light. It was as fast as about an electro spyder.

I've cleaned this thread up - keep it civil from now on. Next insult gets an official warning.

Well actualyl uziel since your here, what are your thoughts? Do you think its possible for the two markers, as close as they are, to perform so much differently?

seeing how you were using a quantom, definatly not one of the best e-loaders around it could have easily been that. the orion is just a brass eagle avenger 3. they are identical except for the paint and name. (by the way, any one notice that vl/brass eagle seem to make many of the same guns just with differant names/colors?) the avenger 3 is a relitivly good gun for its class. ( i would know, i own one) so either it was the detents which would explain the double feeding or the hopper.

Would I expect two similar markers to perform so differently? No. Is it possible? Yes.
One could quite simply be a lemon, and not represent the average performance of that type of marker. There could be faults in the machining, a tighter than normal breech, burrs inside the body, a sharp edge on the bolt - any number of things. Sometimes you just get a sub-standard marker. It happens.
Then again, you may just have been out-shooting the loader. ;)

Well i wasn't outshooting the loader, i was 1 balling. And the triad worked great with the quantam. Lol it didnt do to swell with my halo though.

It wasn't the loader. And their guns are similar because all the companies are owned by one company, K2. Thats why the Vl catalog, the brass eagle catalog, and the wgp catalog are all in the same bound catalog. 4x catalogs in 1 sentence...:dodgy:
-edit- Forgot, Jt is owned by K2 as well.

heh i stayed quiet for a while since i figured that it will just get back on track but...
Orion, Avenger 3 and Triad are the same markers with different color, Triad is top cocking which could make its bolt lighter and I will agree that Orion has a heavy bolt, then again with little application of the dremel tool you can make it much lighter. But they are the same and they all perform equally good for the marker their class.
Quantum is possibly the worst e-hopper out there, if i had a dog i would let it chew on it, I mean it is worse than gravity feeding hoppers, any feed problems I'd assign to the fault of the hopper. As to double feeding, maybe your ball dent was messed up since my Orion never double feeds.
Actually Orion is the best equipped marker out of the 3, it comes with a grip not just a bottom line hose, and has a small drop forward. And like all of the above mentioned the bolt is somewhat cupped and well machined so it has reduced ball breakage.

Well you say its "better equipped" but drop forwards are more of a nuisance than they do help, and the front grip just makes it easier to get shot and slightly heavier. And ill say again it wasnt the loader, because it loaded fine with my triad and was actually faster than the gravity feed.

How the hell do you shoot a spring out of the barrel:confused::confused:

i don't see how you can shoot any of the markers' components out of the barrel

about the only thing that can be fired out the barrel is a ball or a chunck of the detent or an o-ring ... the bolt is too large to fit through most barrels (might be possible on a big bore but highly doubtfull, and every spring in the marker is physically blocked by the bolt from entering the upper bore. I'm curious to know how that one ocurred.
