View Full Version : Masks On: A lesson learned

A couple days back a few friends of mine and my brother went paintballing back in our homemade field down the road. We've all paintballed for many years so we try to be the safest paintballers possible because we realize that there aren't any refs or owners to let you know when your doing something dangerous. Anyways we were nearing the end of our game (attack and defend) and I shot out one of the players and when I looked to my left I saw my brother walking outta the base into the open like someone would when they got shot (I figured that I missed him saying "im out"). Since he was the last one to be shot out I took my mask off, no sooner than I did that a friend of mine yelled out to put my mask back on and no sooner than he said that my pro snap shot from a corner and I got shot 2-3 inches above my right eye. It was by no means his fault because it was a quick shot, I was an idiot for not checking to see that the game was officially over, therefore resulting in my close call.
So really what im trying to say is that if you own your own field or if you go organized ALWAYS leave your mask on until your reasurred from a ref or someone of authority at the field that the game is in fact over.
