stripping/polishing barrel...

is it possible to strip the paint off the barrel? i want to strip my stock ion barrel and polish it, but will soaking it in acetone warp the inside of the barrel or will it be fine? i want to do this just for fun, because i have a freak barrel so wont mind ruining the stock

You should be able to strip it off, but I dont know if the stock barrel is Annodizing or Powdercoated. But either way, you should plug up each side and try to cover up the porting from the inside just incase.

Tape the ends shut and put drops of wax in the porting. Then you should be fine.

There shouldn't be any anno or powdercoating inside the barrel anyway (if there is its not supposed to be there anyway). And you already have a new barrel anyway. So I would say you are safe to do that.
