I have a Tippmann A-5 with a Flatline. Ive been looking into the sniper barrel. I was wondering, would buying the sniper be an upgreade or a downgrade?

A downgrade.
-Loss of velocity.
-substantial decrease in range.

If you mean Tippmann's 'Sniper' Barrel it's a downgrade.

If you were to buy a quality one piece like a Custom Products or J&J Ceramic you'd see improved accuracy at the expense of some of your range.

You would be downgrading. Next time try a search.

As Coenen said, the Tippmann Sniper barrel sucks. If you get a good long CP, JJ, Hammerhead (my favorite), All American, would be good. You won't get the distance but you will get more accuracy. Don't get anything over 16". I'd go with 14" or less. Don't get anythign less than 10" though. 14" is probably your best choice. Just stay away from Tippmann barrels and anything you see at K-Mart.

i agree with carbon999 i hate flatlines. bad experience 136 down the drain sold for 80 J&J is better. if you ever play speedball get something else.

ps and if you are sticking with the flatline this was a useless post.

I heard so many different opinions for the flatline. Everything from the biggest waist of $ 150.00. TO there the Sh#*. I would go with a J&J barrel you you want accuracy.
