Should I get a PMI 68/3000 FW or a AA Raptor 68/3000 (this might be 4500 but my field fills to 3000 so...)? For a bushmaster or possibly an automag. Which one would be good? The Raptor doesn't have an output gauge, which is kind of annoying, but do I really need it? Or I could POSSIBLY get an AGD Flatline 68/3000, but I'm not sure. Could you just please give me your ideas for the best setup and cheapest possible?

The raptor doesn't have the flow rate, and the PMI...I'm not sure. I started out with a 48ci AGD flatline....it was heavier than he|| but it had no shootdown and was insanly consistant. If I were you, I'd get the AGD. CP makes an apator to use it on rail drop forwards, so the gimp d/f AGD provides can be done away with.

I recommend against the Pure Energy (PMI) 3000psi. It's ok on weight and everything, but its got plenty of shoot down. I'm probably going to get a Nitro Duck 68cu 4500psi Tuff-Skin with the Mega Reg. Thats what I really recommend if you have the money. Here's a link to one at Paintball Discounters (its $389.99):

I like the AGD, but I'm starting to think I would like the screw in style PMI. The Flatline would be hard to get off the gun wouldn't it? Surely the PMI wouldn't have that much shootdown?

I've gotten as bad as +-11 sometimes. Also, ICD recommends tanks that have an output pressure gauge and are adjustable. But, you could get a PMI, and upgrade your high and low regs. I don't think the Flatline would be too hard to get off, either. I've heard really good things about it though. If you really like it, go with the Flatline, but I still say the Nitro Duck.

Get a center flag tank and an aka reg. Tht whould be your most consistant bet.

The choice is pretty much between a PMI 68 and a Raptor. Thats the stuff my shop owner has in store (no, I can't get it from an internet site). I think I'm gonna go with the PMI because it's easy to take off, just unscrew it. The AGD I hear is a little harder and the Raptor look like it wouldn't like coming off.
Anymore help? Objections to PMI?

why take it off? just turn it off . . . you can get what ever you want, but i suggest getting a quality tank so you wont have flow or consistency problems. i had absolutlely no problems with my centerflag (but as i understand, your shop doesnt have them). . . i dunno a tank with out a guage or a pmi, not alot of choices. do they have any crossfires?

Hey, just picked up a pmi 68/3000 FW - VeNoM they didn't have any crossfires :(
Here's what I think I'm going to do -
Get a cover
Get a Smart Parts drop forward ( It's light, and doesn't do a huge drop)
Any reccomendations for an On/Off drop forward if I didn't get a Smart Parts?

KAPP on offs are nice, a little edged.

ya shocktechs are nice, simple, functional, and fit nicely. i like the the CP flame drops too . . .
i personally like my drop, but i know richy doesn't . . . after i got it set up i found that the there is only like maybe 2" (possibly a little less) between the back of my tank and the back of the cocking rod . . . i like it though

On/off? If you don't mind the on/off on either then go for the cheaper one.
Drop? Midsized Shocktech and the SP drop are about the same, but the shocktech is cooler looking and hugs a little higher. I was in your position not a week ago, i got the shock tech cause it looked cooler.

I think Im probably gonna go with the shocktech, do you like yours? Any complaints?

I love mine, feels so much better than a huge drop. you might want to try the tank on the drop w/the on off first, because the guage or the fill nipple might get in the way. Shouldn't though. Good luck.

I love the long Shocktech drop. I like big drops though. Its awesome that they have 3 sizes. But, I'd say go with the Shocktech, whatever size you get.

What cover? I saw a hyperflow yesterday with some black Lok Soks and it was really sweet looking, but would the tank get scratched in the middle? I like the Dyes too, but I dont think anybody in my area carries them. Redz? they dont have sticky stuff for the shoulder though!

i use lok soks on my hyperflow but i would rather have one of those Dye covers, those are nice . . . the lok soks are comfortable but they dont cover the whole tank, i cant say that i have had a problem with that yet, but im not sure i want there to ever be a chance of a problem. i would go with the dye cover . . .

I like my lok soks a lot! they dont cover the whole tank, but don't really need to since the only time my tank would get scratched is if it is lying on a table or something of the sort.

Hmmm, if the DYE one has a cover for the zipper for the tank, then that's plain pimp. Other wise i'd get an extreme rage cover. COmpared to my Redz cover, it fits tighter, doesn't swing around, has a bigger shouldering area, and a squeegee holder (which i didin't have to use at all saturday. First no chop at all day in a long time, even when i was fooling around w/ turbo on 11 bps, not chops:) )YOu migh have to cut it up a bit, i had to snip mine and re sew some, but it's the best cover i've had.

What do you mean? I mean, I don't understand what your saying.

Dye covers don't use velcro to hold them on the tank. They use a zipper, and i haven't been able to see if that zipper touches the tank (which it proboably doesn't) then that'd be a good cover.

I used a PMI air system on both of my bushmaster.. The flow rate kept up, and with PMI's THOR secondary tank regulator you can use the system on the older bushmaster. and it's a cheap system too...
