I'm looking into purchasing an E-Bolt. Are they really worth all the money you pay for them? Also I see that little device that comes with the E-Bolt tha attaches onto your tank adapter. Would it be possible to use that on a drop forward?

Also how do you switch fireing modes with it, is there some kind of switch?
I wouldn't mined knowing either:)
Oh yea! I asked the question 'How to switch firing Modes' and the answer was very confusing, but I think you have to press a button and hold the trigger till a light does something:confused:
Well in the mean time take out you trigger spring because it shortens your trigger pull a lot:laugh:

I heard that they were externaly adjustable, anyways, however you switch modes, how do you do it? Are they trigger programable or is there some type of switch you can flip?
Ok, I'll be glad to help out.
The tippmann e-bolt is adjusted from a little black box of 3 levers/switches. Move them in certain positions to determine the mode. Like all 3 down, semi. Or the left down, middle up, right one down... and it's on full auto. It's like that.
To access this, you have 2 choices.
1)Remove grip frame each time, fiddle, put back on.
2)Do as I did. Dremel a window out and just remove the rubber grip. It's quick, easy access. Very handy.
Now, for using that new regulator/asa, yeah. You can use that on a drop forward, no problem. In fact, I currently DO run that reg on a PB univ. DF. And that's 7" forward, 3" down... so it's quite a distance.
Now, to say is it worth it? That is up to the individual. For me, yes. Because I have TAS, it's a disease that I'm sure affects a lot of us.
For you, however, it really depends. You'll get a crisp, short trigger pull. It'll be a mouse click, literally. Consistency will be nice, and you can run at a lower psi.
I mean myself, w/ this and LP modifications, I run my 98 at 200psi. Yes, only 200psi for a Tippmann. Not too shabby, considering stock is 800psi.
Now if you play weekend warrior, a little recball, don't bother. But if you play a lot of big games and tournaments, or just a lot of speedball, you might want to consider this. It could possibly be a good purchase.

I could go for a pic. i am sorta interested in it. Are there 2 ebolt type kits too? One that pushes the sear up and the true electro pnuematic one?
No, Tippmann stop production on the E-trigger kit (One was e-bolt, other was e-trigger). Because the e-bolt is true electropneumatics, while the etrigger was a sear-tipper.
PBSports might have those, though. They have a lot of Tippmann equipment.
And for a picture

Currently, the e-bolts do not have those chrome backs (as you can see in the back of my 98 which is chrome). That's because this one was made by Psycho Ballistics, but right now Tippmann carries the rights to it and produces it. They all now come in black. I think annodized, I'm not sure.
Originally, the e-bolt had a mini-rock regulator attached to the side of the ASA (as seen in some advertisements/pictures of magazines). But currently, as seen on mine (I put this on, and my mini-rock is in my toolbox now) there is a Tippmann regulator/asa. This black box on the drop forward is where you screw in your tank. Duel regulation system, it's with a better airflow compared to the mini-rock version. Adjusted with an allen wrench in the front.

ok I've got a picture of the new e-bolt, but I have a question, I see the 9volt battery connecter that is hanging out the back of the gun along with a switch, does the battery just hang like that? Or is there some type of holder not shown in the picture?
Nope. Actually, that 9v connector goes up throuth the cocking slot. The battery sits there, and something like a really fat rocket-cock protects it and holds the battery in place.
