It's going to be pretty hard to get sponsors at your age. To be quite frank, unless your team is really, really good, you might as well wait a couple years.

Not really. If you act maturely and compete in a fw tourneys, companies eventuall will approach you. Redz is very easy to get sponsored by. Search for this stuff though.

Redz is a discount pricing sponsorship. It's not a top of the line gig. If you have a pulse you can get that hook up. Much like the PBJunkies sponsorship used to be.

I would always recommend putting together a team resume/portfolio with accomplishments and pictures. Sponsorship is a two way street. You're getting gear/paint free or at discount and they're getting advertising while you represent them and their products. If you can show that you're some sort of tangible asset to them, the better your chances.
Your chances actually improve exponentially if you spell S-P-O-N-S-O-R-S-H-I-P correctly. :wink2:

k, you have a team right, so talk to your local field about helping out there and getting discounts on stuff. play in tournaments and see how you do. if you want discounts on good gear, www.redzcomfort.com and send in a sponsorship form, they will give you discount stuff. otherwise, it will be hard to get sponsors because of age, team, and no kind of recognition nationally, put togethor a sponsorship portfolio and make a team website, post it on here in your sig and go from there. mostly just play in tournaments and do well and make sure you play fair and help your field.

okay ill start doing that we have made the site but we need to put it up on the internet so we are having my teammates dad help us. I would volunteer or work for a local field but the only prouble is the local field isnt local its like 15 miles away

15 miles isnt bad, the closest to me is 60. does one of your friends parents work near there? possibly one of them could give you a ride.

teams comprised of mostly younger players tend to be:
A) not stable and therefor a risky investment to a sponsor
B) not independant and therefor a liability to a sponsor
C) not winning and therefor detrimental to the image of a sponsor
and finally
D) not understanding the nature of the business and therefor a thorn in a sponsor's side..
Being young, there's a few things you can do to make your life a little easier.. and help catch the eye of someone looking to sponsor a young guns squad.
Practice and get good (like really good, not "how fast can my electra shoot with a rocking trigger" good) so that when a sponsor does notice you, you don't disappoint them. You might think you're good enough and all.... well yeah.. sometimes I think I'm Ice Cube.. trust me, I'm not. You'll know you're good when you can't find anyone in your state who can beat you.
Figure out how things in paintball work.... if you knew how they worked you wouldn't need to be making this thread and asking this question. Talk to people who know their stuff, read articles on various forums, know who is full of BS and who is important enough to be important. If you think like sponsored teams, act like sponsored teams, play like sponsored teams.. there's a good chance you might find a sponsor one of these days.
Get rid of the sponsor me mentality.. sponsors don't sponsor people who want to be sponsored.. they sponsor people who deserve to be sponsored. (say that three times fast). Play like you deserve to be sponsored and there will be no need to ask questions on how to get it done. If you bring nothing to the table, the sponsor does not want you. It has to be beneficial to both parties.. so you might be doing some charity work along with your sponsorship.
Coke, pepsi, hummers, xbox's, most things commercial don't sell simply because they are made (the exception to that rule is Bentley's.. they sell because they are pure butter). They sell because they are advertised effectively. Can you really expect to get sponsored without a nice sales package? Websites, demo video, pictures, team resume... all this is necessary.. not optional. I don't care how good you claim to be or how bad you think you are... I'm the one spending the money to sponsor you, I'll decide after I see you play and I don't have the time to see 30 teams a day. Send me a little clip of your team wiping up on some other team.. humor me. Unless you wake up tomorrow covered in solid gold, sponsors will not be lined up at your door to give you paint, guns, gear, and money for the next national event (odds are you'll never get most of that anyhow.. be thankful if you get a gun or half-off cases of paint). you'll need to sell yourself if you want something.. playing well is part of it.. showing people you play well and you fit the image of the sport is the other part of it.
Harsh.. probably.. truth.. entirely. Maybe someday a rich parent of a teammate will sponsor you and pay all your bills.. great man  but for the majority out there, working hard and putting in your time is the only way.

like he said you have to put in your own time. we started out cutting grass, doing odd jobs, car washes and standing in front of walmart for hours just trying to get the next dollar to pay for paint and it has paid off, just stay focused on what you want, and you do have to want it, you cant just say you want it. you have want it and let NOTHING and NOBODY stand in your way. someone says something bad about you, brush it off and practice practice practice and when your able to beat ollie lang or rich telford, practice even harder because otherwise you wont get to the top of the ladder.just my two cents, hope it helps

before the Actual sponsor ship smart parts only gave us discounts but we kept playing well as a team and they saw that so dont let a partial sponsorship fool you, it's a place to start, and it's WAY better than nothing.

im having the same problem, execept our team is made up of 14 and 15 year olds, and i was wondering how hard it is/what the steps are to getting the reds discount, and if so, can you get discounted jerseys gloves and pants? i think that if our team could get the redz discount, we could put it in our resume that we are sponsored by a big company, and maybe the local paintball stores would notice and give us discounted paint and air, or something of that sort, do u think that would work?
note-this would come after winning a few local tournies, which are usually held every 2 weeks

And as I mentioned before, spell sponsor correctly. It's spelled sponsor not sponser.
If your grammar and punctuation aren't up to par any type of official correspondence you try to have between you and a company is going to be discarded as spam or you're going to be labeled as unworthy before you even get out of the gate. Get in the habit of using full and complete sentences now.

in other words yes it is uber hard to get sponsored when you are young and are not recognized your best bet is local stores adn things like that. go buy the paintball sports magazine for july 2006 and read the get sponsored article in there. Redz "sponsorship" is nothing more than a not so good discount. check their prices for things and how much you save and then shop around online and there is not much different. Example gearbag 110 normal price 160 action village 127, oohh 17 dollars differnce.not great

or dude goto different ( huge paintball crap sites) and some times u can print a resume to get them to sponser you
soccerjacks12
06-15-2006, 08:03 AM
It's spelled SPONSOR!:pissed:
Batman- Redz will give you discounted gear. Jersey, pants, pack, gloves. Get pics of your team playing and then give them to the store you're trying to get sponsored by. IT is better to have a uniformed team that looks good. So I'd do the sponsorship if you don;t have jerseys.
