just get it running at about the same pressure as your original regulator was running
than you shouldn't need any changes
but if for some reason you get it to run at a lower pressure while giving the same fps you might need to adjust dwell

Well I went out ballin' yesterday, and I had to put my stock reg back on cause the AKA was way to inconsistant. It was jumping from like 230 to 285. Any ideas as to why this is happening..............and yes I did adjust my reg pressure. Could it be that it needs to be greased ? and if if so would it jump that bad ?

if it is brand new
it could possible have metal shavings in it
also you need to break in new regs

Well it was used on my bf's old Ion from last year. But has been sitting for a
long time. Could that have anything to do with it ? And I know there are no
shavings in it because I took the reg apart tonight. Should I mabey shoot
another 1000-2000 rounds through it ? What would you folks sudgest ?

Ah!
AKA regs don't use grease they use oil for some odd reason
I should have thought of that earlier...

Yeah I knew about the oil thing. When I had it apart though, it
seemed to be lubed quite well.

or just the nerve?

Try just dry-firing a full tank, or using re-balls, to break it in before you get it to the field.

What do you mean ? It is the reg itself that takes the oil. It does not
matter what gun you put the AKA on. But I guess to answer your question
yes when we used it on the Ion, to lube it we used oil.

What i mean is , is the 2 liter just as inconsisant on the ion as teh nerve?
And is yoru stock reg inconsisant on the nerve?

Chances are that if the reg has been sat around for a while, the oil has seeped off of the o-rings, piston etc. and just needs to be redistributed around the reg.
Strip down the reg entirely, clean it, replace any worn o-rings, re-lube it, and then re-assemble. Make sure that the reg's vent hole is clean and not blocked with anything. If that doesn't help, replace the seat seal o-ring, whether it looks worn or not.
