Report: remove this post from view...

with all the man-sex permeating BPR i think it would be nice if there was an option to "remove post from view and await moderator approval" option to the report button. lets say some degenerate image is posted or statement is made we, the registered BPR users, could report the post to the mod staff AND remove the post from view, replaced with something like this:

"The post has been removed from view and is awaiting approval."

it'd be a way to shutdown porn, scams and raciest remarks. abuse it to harass other BPR members with a legit post and you = banned.

How will the database know when someone is legitimately using that feature compared to someone just causing havoc and abusing it?

it won't. from what i've seen on other forums the post in question is moved to a "Moderaton Queue" where the respective mod views the post in it's un-censored form and passes judgment on it. i'm assuming there is a reported by so-and-so in the moderation queue. if the moderator feels that the report was in violation of PBR rules then he/she can take action as they see fit. i have no idea if PBR can support this. i don't pretend to think if it can, but if it did it'd be a really nice feature.

It works much like the reported posts feature we have now, only it acts as a temp delete. The only problem is that some users have bizarre ideas about what needs to be reported. The log is full of posts where people don't like what's being said so they think a thread should be shut down. We don't censor people or dissenting opinions here. (Even bad ideas and opinions and things in bad taste). I think it'll cause more harm than it's worth.
