what kind of oil do you guys think is the best for your gun? has anyone found any substitutes to traditional paintball oil? i found this stuff called tri-flon, it comes in a black spray can and it has little particles of teflon in it. it's supposed to clean and protect from dirt and grime, it works to like -65 degrees or something plus it makes your gun smell nice. i used it on my tippy's hammer and bolt and now it runs really smooth.

(sorry if i sound like an infomercial lol no i dont work for them)

i just use paintball oil because its not that expensive, and it doesn't void warranties/potentially cause problems

EDIT: when i say "paintball oil" i mean whatever is reccomended for the particular marker i am using.

There's really no point in experimenting with non-accepted paintball lubes. Every once in a while someone will find out a non-paintball lube works great (Slick Honey is an example) but you'll know when that happens. Not worth the risk of screwing up your marker.

I use Hater Sauce.

Use whatever your instruction manual tells you to. Otherwise you can void the warranty.

Definetly. For example, SP's extremely strict warranties tell you only to use Dow 33 on their guns. I use the Hater Sauce on my Ion because I've talked to the shop owner, and that is what he suggests. He puts it on every gun before he sells it.

I have used dow and Moose Juice ( http://www.Moosejuice.net ) on my quest, both work awesome, i honestly thing the Moose Juice sticks better and performs the same if not better, and is insanely cheaper.

be sure to check it out.

Hmmm...you wouldn't happen to have a vested interest in this product because you're selling it would you? :eyes:

if your using something that comes in a spray can on a tippmann, stop! i almost did the same thing and in my manual there was a sidenote that said, Do NOT use aerosol can oils, they can damage your gun! so i use hoppes #9, it comes in a little drip bottle, im not sure why my manual says that but if its in the manual it might be important

*sigh* The aerosol cans generally contain petroleum based lubricants. These lubricants break down and destroy o-rings in the marker, and are usually not thick enough to provide proper lubrication and end up mainly creating more grime than lube.
The best lube for a gun will be dependant on the gun type. For example, Gold Cup is generally reccomended for blowback markers like Tippmanns and Spyders, whereas you don't want that stuf getting into a solenoid, so Dow 33 (AKA Sl33k lube) is used on most high end markers.

I use Extreme Rage gun oil now. Before I used trumpet valve oil and it worked grrrrrrrrrreat

Since you have a Tippmann, regular marker oil will be fine, thats what I use on my spyder. Same oil as mineral oil, which is baby oil. Just take apart, clean, oil and reassemble after every hard day of use and you will be good.

i believe he means tri-flow, which is the recomended oil for intimidator bolts and would most likely work perfect on a LOWER END gun for the striker and other o-rings. and by "spray bottle" i think he means a pump spray nozzle, not an aerosol can.

Just out of curiosity, is 3 in 1 petroleum based?
