hey everyone, i have a quick question. is there anyway to reduce the noise of an impulse?
my current setup:
strange impulse
16" All American fronts & SS freak back
max-flo inline 68ci/4500
jackhammer II
double trigger i-frame
WAS board & eye
RAT hammer & slik shot shaft
new dez delrin bolt & rip valve
qloader hopper
i'm trying to figure out if there is anything else to do.

that sounds about all you can upgrade on it. Main sound difference comes with the barrel. I personally don't think the imp is THAT loud, but maybe mine's a bit diff.
what pressure/dwell are you running at?

for the pressure, is that the gauge on the back of the gun, or the one near the max flo?

both. The gauge on the back is reading the LPR set pressure (the pressure going to the noid).
The gauge near the max flo would be reading your main pressure (the pressure going to the valve).
Both can have some affect on noise/efficiency

ok, the guage by the max flo says just under 200 psi, the gauge at the back of the frame say 100 psi, and my dwell is set at 9.0ms.

what's your velocity usually run at? I'd say you coul take the main pressure down to 150-175, and the noid pressure to 75 with the upgrades you have.
then sweetspot your pressure by stepping your dwell up slowly until it hits a point where increasing dwell doesn't increase velocity. Then use your LPR to set the desired velocity.

my velocity is usually right around 300fps. i assume the max flo controls the main pressure, but how do i drop the noid pressure? the knob on the jackhammer is what i use to set the velocity at the end, right?
thanks for all the help!

that is correct, vert reg for main pressure. LPR knob for noid pressure

ok, just so i make sure i understand, youre saying set the main pressure to btwn 150 and 175 and the noid pressure to 75, then adjust the dwell until adjusting it up doesnt increase velocity anymore, then adjust the noid pressure until the correct FPS. is that right?
i'm waiting on a new chrono to arrive, as soon as it does i'll try this. thanks alot for the help, the dwell stuff is probably the one thing no one really seems to explain well.
