On this thread tell me of any good deadmans walks anyone has done?
A deamans walk is where you get a couple of teammates and yourself (all have not been shot and are in play) and walk into the enemies lines as if you were walking off the field.
Helpful hints-
1: You cannot say or indicate that you are out of play just walk forward and pray no one thinks anything of it.
2: Ask a ref in what direction the safe zone is but not saying you are out.
3:Get in a fake argument with your teammates like "why didn't you see that guy coming" or "It's not my fault Johnny (or whatever) was supposed to be watching that way.
4:Ignore any players on the other team. Don't be looking around at the enemies look at the ground.
5:keep your gun pointed down not at the enemies.
6:If someone asks you if your out ignore them or say "What?" or "Can't hear you"
7: Wait until your behind all the enemies to open fire.
8: Try to find a quiet barrel to use even if it's not the best barrel people won't hear you.

OTHER TACTICS -
If your pinned down and have no chance of survival try something new like yelling "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" and then shooting as many as you can
Please post any other ideas you have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU BEING SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES TRYING THESE TACTICS!
!!!CHECK WITH THE FIELD REFS TO SEE IF IT IS LEGAL!!!
~note- Deadmans walks work best in woodsplay. You will probably get lit up in a speedball field!
~~~GOOD LUCK~~~

no good at an indoor field either,
some renters have itchy trigger finger and unload on people whoARE out
so deadman's walk would get me lit like a rocket.
then i would have to kill those poor renter newbies

A buddy of mine were so damned tired at the end of a 10 hour day that we didnt care if we got shot out or not..we were just walking towards the end of the field closest to the way home.
we didnt hear really too much shooting going on, so we kept going. i saw a couple guys look at us, do a double take then look back where they were looking before, as we didnt react at all to their sudden aim at us. (thank GOD they didnt fire..) we just had our guns in one hand, pointed at the ground. we walked right past them, and tagged them out (rambo rule..if you touch them, they're dead).
since they were the only 2 guarding the flag, we grabbed it and started a slow jog/walk/shuffle towards our base...we took out the 4 people left on their team easily from behind, got back to our base, rang the bell, and won the match.
All from being just too damned tired to care anymore.

If anybody does the traditional dead-mans walk in a game where I'm on the other team I swear I'm gonna chop their balls off. There was one little prick who did that in a game I was in...he shot my brother who was on my team but I was a couple feet away in the deadbox and I was so pissed at him I shot him like 5 times in the chest (so did my brother and my friend, but they were just doing it because they would get to shoot somebody)
I don't think he'll be doing that again :D

(long sigh.....................)
Come on guy's, what's with all the deadman walking. This can only lead to problems. Not only will people start unloading on everyone who is REALY OUT, it's only going to piss people off.
It's a despised newbie tactic and marks you for getting lit up at my local field. The deadman walk was invented by newbies with little skill. You'll do much better in the long run if you actually try to develop your skills and play the game the way it was meant to be played. The guys I play with all consider this cheating and we despise it. We're pretty leaniant on first timers out to the fields, but the second time someone pulls it we light them up. We're not mean people, we do it for their own good and for the safety of everyone who comes out to the field.
It's also a rule at our field "No Deadman Walks". If you act like you're out (aka, pull a dw) you are out. If you happen to hit someone while doing the "walk", they aren't out.

If you do a deadman's walk you should do it at the END of the day because if you do it at the start people will walk out of the game without their plugs in and randomly get lit up....

In a rec game, I usually don't care. If it's a tournament style game (even a tourny style rec ball) I'll shoot if your gun is not above your head or if the barrel condom is not on. I have yet to have any one do the dead man's walk against me in a rec game, but if they did, I would most assuredly start a 5 foot fire fight with them that would last until the ref comes over.

Don’t get caught by a dead-man’s walk: It’s embarrassing and completely avoidable. If you see someone walking with his armband still on and his ’gun down, shoot him. Eliminated players should have their ’guns up and have no reason to ***** about being shot if they don’t.

kingall, i agree. It was explicitly stated at the beginning of the day that when you are out, you hold your gun above your head and walk off the field.
if i am out, you can darned well be sure that my gun is way up there, cuz I tend to dislike getting hit when the adrenaline is no longer deadening the pain. :)
I agree that it should be done on an extremely limited basis. if its done more than that, it just won't work.

I find it interesting that this would even be considered a tactic. It really sounds more like poor sportsmanship to me. Especially if someone asks if you're out and you flat out lie to them. This "tatic " is not legal at the 3 fields I play at and when someone is caught doing it not only do they get lit up but, they are asked to leave for the rest of the day.
I think the previous posts are correct though.... if their marker isn't raised over their head or their barrel plug is not in you should view them with extreme suspicion. Ask them repeatedly if they are out and if they don't give an answer tell them, loudly, to raise their gun over their head with their barrel plug in or you will fire upon them.
That should take care of people trying this lazy, newbie "tatic".

i hate dead mans walks because ive tried them twice and every time i get caught right when im in the middle of the field with no cover so it hella sucks one time i did it and i got shot in the ballz and it hurt so much so i never do them anymore i shoot anyone that stands up! call me a newbie or what ever you want but i dont feel like getting jacked from behind that much:eek:

it should be taken into consideration that this tactic is only meant for scenario and rec play.NOT at tourneys Also dont be piseed if you are shot by a person faking to be out because if theyare doing it the right way there gun will not be up and they will have no plug in.and if u are shot by one it is your fault because u were to stupid to see notice the person was really in.Conclusion shoot people with no plugs in and guns at the ready.Dont shoot people with plugs in and gun up.:love:

Yeah see, if you just walk towards a player with your armband on and gun down, you'll get lit in a tournament. But... if you do it this way
Call the attention of the nearest ref to you, get out of your bunker and walk towards your oppsing player, pointing at him (with the confused ref in tow) and saying "LOOK! ON HIS HEAD! LOOK DAMNIT LOOK!" all the while walking towards the player in a hurried manner (not quite running, but a very fast walk). The bewildered player will most likely be checking his head for paint and looking at the ref to see what this nut is pointing at. When you get close enough, pop the guy and duck down behind his bunker. If we are up enough points at skyball, I actually plan on doing this :)

We had one guy pull this with his plug in...once
He got overshot the rest of the day. I cover opponents until they are plugged. It is like the hidden ball in baseball, it might work one time on good players. Noobs may bite all day.

Twitch, if the ref calls you neutral and you do that, won't you get penalized?
I don't think that would work. The ref probably won't accept that.

Actually it does work. You're not supposed to run up to a player in a game and point at him. According to the rules, you should shoot any such player who is live and attempts to do that to you. It's actually a perfectly legal move, and a ref wouldn't call you neutral for that. Even if you were called neutral, you aren't allowed to move, so that's not really an issue.

Thanks for the info Twitchy. Now any time I see some guy talking to a ref, I'll watch his feet. One little step in any direction and he's a goner. Play it safe people! :)

Well UTL, that is of course if his hands aren't above his head. If you see a guy walking with his hands above his head, armband off and gun pointed in the air, then you shoot him... well you may get in trouble for that one :)
