im a newb, about to buy my first paintball gun and i was looking at electric ones, either the Vexor Eye, Ion, Tippmann 98c or Custom Pro with E-grip, or a diablo II led. anyone have suggestions, i have about 200 to work with

The ION is the best out of those, but if your completely new to paintball I would go with the Vexor Eye, it's a very nice marker for what you are paying, and it's pretty simple internally.

And regular 98s arent Electronic.. But id say Ion for the price...

alright i was thinking either the vexor eye or the ion but i heard the ion had a problem with not being able to get into it when your at a field

yes i am completely new to paintball so ill go with the vexor

The Ion is the better of the two.
But may I suggest the Piranha EVO SE. Better than the Vexor Eye, but not as complicated as a blowback. ANd a great marker. Check out Rexes too.

I would say try to get the REX R3. You probably haven't heard of it, because they are a new company. This is a high-end electo and can be found NEW, not USED by a guy on pbnation (justplayn) for $185! Also if you don't want to buy it from a forum person, check on ebay, they are really cheap right now. The gun has adjustable semi-auto, adjustable full-auto, clamping feed neck, adjustable burst mode, lcd screen, break-beam eyes, derlin ACS bolt, and a game timer (and more if you look at the specs of the gun at rexpaintball.com. This gun is seriously worth over $350 and better, and way easier to use than an ion, espesially for a beginner (this was my first gun). I just bought mine two days ago. If you don't hurry up and take advantage with this deal, when these get into stores, they say this gun with shoot up a few hundred dollars.

They won't shoot up at all. Ya know why? They are Diablo Wrath clones. Full EP>Spring return.

I never said anything about performance, just operation. I'd still buy an Ion over a REX marker though. They just don't look that awesome:|

I don't think anyone with their first gun wants to take out the grip with an allen wrench (that they would happen to have with them?) to change firing modes. I just think it would be confusing... Also check out this video to see the r3 in action... http://media.putfile.com/r3-reballs

I'd just leave the Ion in semi anyway, as that is legal at all fields.

Umm. Who dosent bring a tool kit with them in case there marker has a problem?.. And Soccer's right. Youre a n00b if you ever wanted to use full auto...

Still, if your going to be using semi, the r3 has a better trigger for that. Not much side to side motion, not plastic, not as stiff.

Meh, I personally like the Ion triggers. If I ever buy one(very possible), it'll be the last thing I upgrade.

Never used that, but Im just saying, always bring a tool bag with you in case you or someone elses marker goes down.

Is bias yes but get a Mongoose II LCD W/ eyes off action village for 169 and u can get a mask and co2 with the rest of the money.

why dont they just wipe every low end-medium end gun off the face of the earth and replace them with Ions?:P
