if your into woodsball and not speedball then the tippman is ok, i dont know much about them but if you think your gonna get into speed ball dont get one
you dont need pb shoes, if you really want something like that get some cheap cleats

Jacks is right, except I dont understand the words that are coming outta your Post on #3... Flatline=teh Suk!!11!! If you want range, get Apex, if you want accuracy, get J&J for cheap because you dont want high end barrels for the 98c... The Halo is great... but it will wear your Detents out fast... Go Eggy II... Thats what I have and It never did...

usually, no. most guns can handle it. just don't slam the gun into the ground, or dig it in when you slide. it shouldn't break, but it'll be a pain to clean
2.do i really need the pb shoes
nah, save some money for other equipment. if you're gonna play speedball all you need are some cheap soccer/baseball cleats or even some cross country running shoes with a lot of grip. for woodsball you might want something a little sturdier, some lightweight boots would work.
3.im guessing im gonna get a Tippman 98 c then gettin halo hopper and a flatline barrel is that a good sturdy setup?
98c, good sturdy gun. halo, very nice hopper, but you don't really need it for the tippy. you're probably not going to be shooting fast enough to need a hopper that fast, and if you do you'll be chopping too much to have any accuracy. if youre going to be getting a different gun soon, you can take it from gun to gun. but if you're gonna use the 98 for a long time, you can save a little money now and get a cheaper electric hopper. as for the flatline, i've never used one on my 98, so i'm not really sure if they're as good as they're supposed to be, but, a lot of people like them so they can't be bad.
Overall, if you're playing woodsball, I'd go with a cheaper hopper, but otherwise a good beginner setup. If you want to go speedball, I'd lood at one of the E-Spyders, or an Ion, instead of the 98.

chyeah, on my 98 is double fed a triple fed ALL the tim until i did the double detent mod. then it worked fine.
and you wont break a 98 sliding.. topugh if you slide wrong im sure you could bust the feedneck on your hopper.

1. no and yes
2. no
3. Instead of buying a Halo hopper, just buy a cyclone feed. If you're looking to play tournaments, not a good setup.

98C's have been run over by vehicles and still worked.

Tippmanns are a good choice, but you can still look at other guns. Other guns in the price range are Imagine, Vexor Eye, Type-R, EVO SE. A Halo B on a Tippmann is an overkill, get yourself an Egg and save some money if you don't plan on a new gun any time soon.

For whomever asked about my words in #3, they were search terms;)
I agree completely w/ babustos. Was about to say that.
