College Paintball club or team

Has anyone here tried to organize a team or just paint ball club at their college or is maybe a part of one or you have a good friend who is in one? Basicaly i want to try to start one at my college but i would like to know what other people have done before me, what kind of pitfalls they encountered etc. etc. etc.

what college do you go to?

I am the southwest director of the national collegiate paintball association (NCPA).
we have conferences all over the nation, as well as tournaments specifically for colleges and universities.

I recently got my school (the University of Arizona) to recognize our paintball team.

Well i know for a fact that Virginia Tech has a paintball team. They are currently in the same tourney series as me. They are beating us. They are in first but its a series of 4 tourneys but that was the first tourney. Our points are going to get carried over so we can still beat them. We stale matted them last time but we will spank them next time. Anyways its a good idea. We will win.

trust me... all college paintball teams must go through the NCPA.

he has many contacts. through the NCPA, you can get cases of paint (I cant say publicly... but the company name begins with a D and ends with an O) for 30 a case.

Well i checked out the web site and it has a ton of info on the subject. Unfortunately the nearest exsisting club or team to me is in Austin or Dallas, no San Antonio listings, not even under players looking to join one. Looks like i'm in for an uphill push from the ground up! Also i didn't see it on the site, might've missed it but if i can't get enough people at my college, would making a club or team comprised of people from multiple area colleges still put it under NCPA or would i just be making a rec club?

a college team to compete agains other colleges in the NCPA must consist of students from your school thats it.
no other schools.
